This document introduces Gatling, an open source load testing tool. It discusses some issues with traditional load testing approaches like limited scalability and usability. Gatling addresses these by using asynchronous processing without blocking I/O, supporting thousands of concurrent users on a single JVM. It provides both a graphical interface and a Scala DSL for defining test scenarios. Gatling also offers out-of-the-box support for common testing patterns and the ability to integrate with other tools for reporting.
