This document discusses game sense teaching, which was introduced as an alternative to traditional physical education methods that do not account for the contextual nature of games. Game sense teaching starts with the game and its rules to develop tactical awareness and decision making before skills. It involves designing games to achieve outcomes, asking questions to stimulate thinking, and allowing for discussion and testing of ideas. The strengths of this approach include inclusiveness, being student-centered, and catering to varying skill levels. It also helps develop fundamental movement skills and positive relationships, linking it to the PDHPE syllabus.
