The Orangutan Game Jam is a weekend workshop for ages 14-16 to learn game design and help endangered orangutans. Participants will learn essential game design aspects to create their first game. They will have the opportunity to design a game that will be tested by orangutans at a wildlife rescue center in Indonesia. The workshop will be held in June or July 2013 in Hong Kong and cover game design principles, programming, audio, and producing a paper prototype of the game over the weekend.
2. Prerequisites
• Age Range: 14 -16 years
• One does not have to know anything about game
design before attending the workshop, but having some
experience in playing games is always an advantage.
3. Why?
• To learn essential aspects of game design and
understand the challenges of game designers. By the
end of the weekend, you will have your First Game
Ready.
• To learn valuable ICT skills and have fun designing
games.
• To help enrich the lives of captive orangutans
• To learn more about endangered species and
sustainability, especially in Indonesia
