How does Hospitality and
Tourism impact the
Economy?
Hospitality and Tourism is one of the most
significant revenue generators for the state -
second only to agriculture. It is estimated
that Georgia earns $8 in hospitality and
tourism revenue for every $1 spent on
tourism marketing. More than 439,000
Georgia residents work in jobs related to
hospitality and tourism. Tourism drives
significant business growth and increased
revenue for companies operating in Georgia.
Hospitality and Tourism is approximately a
$58.9 billion industry for the state.
Why should Hospitality and
Tourism be taken outside the
classroom?
Field trips give students educational
experiences away from their regular
school environment.
Not only do field trips provide alternative
educational opportunities for children,
they can also benefit the community if
they include some type of community
service.
Why should Hospitality and
Tourism be taken outside the
classroom?
Learning in assorted ways can appeal to varied
learning styles, helping children to succeed
whether they are visual, auditory or kinetic
learners.
Students visiting different educational facilities
learn in a more hands-on and interactive
manner than they do in school.
