Strategy execution and Balanced Scorecard: The craft of storytelling using Video
You are not always comfortable with the thought, that one need to think differently, while making a choice of the media to be used to tell your story to the stakeholders. It could be about your new strategy or specifics about course correction or even a disruptive technology impacting the business. How well can you craft it together, in a simple and effective way to carry the message, without losing the gist of the story will make a huge difference to your communication efforts.
It need not necessarily be a visual wizardry of animation that leaves one speechless and wondering the effort behind such a creative work. My experience is that effective communication should be kept simple and easy with efforts to produce it being less complex.
When it comes to communicating strategy, it becomes relevant that the focus should be on those stakeholders who are going to execute it. The content should be easy for them understand and act on it. A bit of fun element in the form of visual assets can make this more engaging. There could be a series of videos, sequenced properly, detailing strategy, execution, balanced scorecard, engagement, cultural change, and others, focusing on the goals to realize the intended strategy.
The video given below is an example of how you can briefly put together content in a simple way to communicate your message effectively. It is about strategy and the use of balanced scorecard for alignment and execution. The same content could be converted into a Slide Share or a presentation material (PPT) for the workshop.
As usual, your valuable inputs in the form of comments will add to my learning and make my posts more meaningful. I am sincerely thankful for all support you have been giving me and hope my efforts are useful. Please like and share on your network if you feel that it is beneficial.
