1. Edwards, Sue B, and Duchess Harris. Black Lives Matter., 2016. Print.
Edward’s book focuses on shootings that touched off passionate
protests, the work activists touch on for bringing about a more just
legal system, and the tensions that these events have brought into modern
day society.
Edwards says America has made unmistakable progress, but racially
defined roles still exist. She uses examples of the shootings very well to
make her statements and prove points.
This book is used to inform children and teens on the matter. Edward’s
“fact” columns are good to inform you on a decision or pin point the
main focus of what that chapter is really about.
2.Jr, Bill F. "Calling Black Lives Matter Anti-Police Won't Work." Washington
Informer, sec. 51: 27. 2015. Web.
Fletcher’s newspaper article offers an overview of a myth that is
promoted by the political right. Fletcher points his finger towards police
for shooting blacks between the age of 7-21 rather than whites.
Fletcher states that it has been interesting and unsettling to watch the
attack on the Black Lives Matter movement. Fletcher also informs that

the “war against the police” is a way to drag attention away from the
actual war. They real war is said to be against Black civilians by right-
wing haters and out of control police.
It is clear by reading this article that Fletcher is on the side of Black
Lives Matter. He makes it clear that police killings have decreased and
that the facts prove that. His purpose is to inform.
3.Torphy, Patrick. “Why the NYPD union wants a boycott of Quentin Tarantino
films.” Christian Science Monitor. 26 Oct. 2015: n/a. eLibrary. Web. 12

Tarantino calls police “murderers” because they aren’t living in his big
screen fantasies, and they are out there risking/sacrificing their lives to
protect communities. The article states that very few Black Lives Matter
participants actually advocate killing police.
Torophy explains that while Tarantino was flying there from California
an officer was killed in pursuit. Of course this brought up the matter of
was the demonstration innately anti-police? Taratino agreed it was
unfortunate timing but that it just happened to be a tragedy.
This article is to inform that some things are just misrepresented. It also
shows that many activists have been chanting for murder of police
officers but that very few are actually advocating that.

This website overviews many questions that are asked to political
figures by the Black Lives Matter community, one in particular being
Hilary Clinton. Things such as “What in your heart has changed?” and
“How could those mistakes that you made be a lesson for all of
America?”
This site explains how this movement began on social media also. It is
stated that Black Lives Matter is devoted to its decentralized power
structure.
Activists warn democrats not to take votes for granted in 2016. Many of
the people running for office then took this into view. Sanders hired a
black activist to act as a spokes person, O’Malley called for a
Constitutional amendment in the criminal-justice system that called for
body cameras, and Clinton echoed the mantra of the movement
throughout her campaign. This website informs us on how Black Lives
Matter effects politics.

Common. Reason 47.10 (2016): 2-4. Academic Search Premier. Web. 12

According to this website, Ammon Bundy (the leader of the armed
Oregon militia) was offered multiple times to step down where as Grey
and Brown were not offered the opportunity. The black activists state
that if they were non-white it wouldn’t be wait and see but more like
point and shoot.
There have been other instances analogous to this Oregon protest, but
they involved members of a disfavored minority in armed stand offs
towards police. Many of these instances were peacefully settled with no
blood shed.
This website informs us on the other acts in society that may be similar
to those that the Black Lives Matter fights against. It also lays out how
those issues were settled and solved.
