1. FWB Steering Group
The Committee’s role is to provide advice and to
work collaboratively to support the program as
well as ensuring the program is community led
and is developed in a way that is culturally appro-
priate and sustainable for the Central Coast.
It will be expected that the FWB Steering Group
will participate in four meetings per year as well
as provide input into the FWB Program.
Funding for the program was established by a
joint tender between Central Coast Primary Care
(CCPC), Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Medical Ser-
vice and Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service.

What do other people say about it?
‘FWB has taught me a lot about myself and how
to control my emotions, actions, etc. I have now
become a new person and I have planned to do
things for myself. This new way has made me
change my diet, exercise more than I used to. I’ll
continue listening to people who empower
themselves in a positive way.’ — FWB course
participant*
‘I considered myself illiterate. I was pretty
insecure. Once I did [the program] I had more
than I believed I had. Then I went to college and
studied counselling. I had to write assignments.
I hadn’t been to school since I was 14.’ — FWB
