To allow community partners and parents the opportunity to
participate in the ABCD agency decision making process,
with regard to health, nutrition, disabilities and mental
health policies and practices.
To allow center staff, community partners and parents the
opportunity to come together and discuss pertinent issues
affecting the health of those living in their communities, and
strategize to address concerns.
9. Parents are recruited
for participation
through center level
parent committees.
Community
Representatives are
recruited annually.
10. Parent and Community Representatives will
initially serve for one year.
If a member so chooses, he/she may serve
indefinitely, after the initial year.
Should a member decide to no longer
participate, he/she may recruit a new
member to take his/her place.
Meetings are scheduled two times annually
(Spring and Fall).
11. Attend HSAC Meetings.
Share current health related information.
Assist with the development, review, and
committee-level approval of ABCD health,
nutrition, mental health and disabilities
policies and practices, before final approval
by ABCD Policy Committee and Council.

13. There will be 2 meetings per year.
Sub committees will be developed for issues
that come up within the group.
Everyone has an equal vote.
14. New members of HSAC will receive individualized
training at the center level, prior to meetings, as well as
an annual refresher training for those who choose
renew their membership.
