The document summarizes future trends for African American students in education. It finds that the educational achievement gap between black and white students' parents has declined. While disciplinary actions have disproportionately affected black students more than white students for the same offenses, efforts are being made to address this issue. The dropout rate for black students has been gradually decreasing over decades and is predicted to continue declining. College graduation rates for black students, while still lower than whites, have shown steady increases in recent years, with some colleges now having a higher percentage of black graduates than white graduates. Income inequality between black and white college graduates has also been decreasing over time.

Dr Steve Strand presented some of his findings from the Longitudinal Study of Young People in England (2007) in order to explore Boys' underachievement: Contextualising ‘gaps' in educational attainment. His research has shown the attainment gap at age 16, in terms of gender, ethnic group and socio-economic class, to be in inverse rank to the extent of press and media attention (total points score 0.22, 0.61 and 1.29 respectively). However, the interaction effects of these variables are significant (e.g. the gender gap is much larger for Black Caribbean and Bangladeshi pupils than for White British pupils), and call for more "nuanced interpretations"; care also needs to be taken not to over-generalise to the individual. http://www.ttrb.ac.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?ContentId=15098

A severe global recession has brought heightened attention to poverty in the United States as the poverty rate rose over time, leveling off at 15.0% in 2011. Recent U.S. Census Bureau data demonstrates the persistence of higher poverty rates for African Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, Children, single mothers, people with disabilities, and other groups, for example. DROPOUT RATES OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES IN SPECIAL 2
Synopsis
There is extensive research on the topic of dropout rates of students in the United States.
This research shows an historical impact of how African Americans are overrepresented in
special education programs and have high dropout rates. As the research will establish, there are
many reasons cited for dropping out with negative consequences rippling across this growing
population. Empirical studies define reasons for dropping out, estimate dropout rates with ever
increasing precision, and examining the correlates of dropping out, including race,
socioeconomic status (SES), and school’s performance.
Abstract
Educational Attainment, while highly valued, is in short supply among African
Americans. Overrepresentations of African Americans are much more prevalent and are more
pervasive with a well documented history of oppression and discrimination that have
characterized race relations in American history (Skiba, Simmons, Ritter, Gibb, Rausch,
Cuadrado, & Chung, Spring 2008). The purpose of this study is to examine dropout rates of
African American males in special education settings. More specifically, this study will examine
the relationship of gender, educational placement and dropout rates of students in high school.
The population of this study consists of elementary and secondary students across the nation
enrolled in public schools. The study will use Ad Hoc data compiled from the Composition
Index (CI), the Risk Index (RI), and Relative Risk Ratio. The findings of this study revealed that
there is a significant correlation between race and gender for educational placement in special
education. Further, the findings revealed that there is also a significant between race and gender
and high school dropout rates.
DROPOUT RATES OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES IN SPECIAL 3
Introduction
Educational Attainment, while highly valued, is in short supply among African
Americans. More specifically, African American males are disproportionately placed in special
education and labeled mentally challenged at higher rates than their White, non-Hispanic
counterparts. In contrast to special education, African American males are placed in advanced
placement and identified gifted/ talented at one-sixth as often as White non-Hispanic males in the
greater Houston area. Research supports that this is not a new phenomenon. Historically, special
education was created from the efforts of the Civil Rights movement. Concerns of racial
inequality led to litigation that brought about the first special education legislation. Because of
this unique tie to the Civil Rights movement, it is very ironic that there are racial disparities in
the placement of min ...

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Parents of Students
The difference between the percent of Casucasian and African American children
whose mothers got at least a high school education has declined from 1999 to
now
This is good because when kids see that their parents have achieved things and
worked towards their goal it motivates the kids more.
3. Disciplinary Actions
There have been a number of studies shown that African American kids who
misbehave are more likely to suffer worse consequences and punishments than
Caucasian kids who misbehave, even if they do the same offence
Its been shown that over the years this problem has been getting worse, in 1972
African Americans were only getting suspended at twice the rate as Caucasian
people, now they are almost 60% more likely!
There has been discussion on ways to fix this and trying out different ideas and so
far the ideas are making an impact and they will continue to be used to decrease
this likelihood
4. Drop Out Rates
The drop out rates for African Americans, although it had some ups and downs,
has been gradually decreasing in the past few decades
It is predicted that the Drop out Rate for African American students will continue
to decrease
5. College Graduates
Although the rate of African American College Graduates remain low
(about 46% of black women and 35% of black men in a study done in
2006), it has shown steady progress over the years
It is believed that this progress will continue for the years to come
African American women are showing a steadier increase in collage
graduations than African American men, but it is believed that both
will continue to grow
6. College Graduates
There are some colleges where the percent of African American graduates is
higher than the percent of Caucasian graduates
This is huge because in the past African American college graduation percentage
has always been lower than Caucasian, but as of recently that has changed in
some colleges meaning it can also change in other colleges in the future.
7. After School
In a recent study it was shown that African Americans who earn a 4 year degree
have almost identical incomes to Caucasian people who have a college degree
The inequality between African Americans and Caucasians in the workforce has
become less and less over the years and it is likely to continue to become less
until it is virtually nonexistent
