The Australian funnel-web spider is a very venomous spider found along the east coast of Australia. It lives in damp, sheltered areas under rocks, logs, and in trees. The spider hunts at night using trip lines to detect vibrations of prey like insects and small lizards. If not treated, the painful bite from its large fangs can be deadly to humans, though antivenom has prevented deaths in recent decades.
