Anacondas are large, nonvenomous snakes found in tropical South America. They live in swamps, rivers, and other bodies of water near rainforests. Anacondas reach up to 35 feet in length and feed on large prey like deer, pigs, birds, and fish. They reproduce through mating balls where multiple males swarm around a single female in an attempt to breed. While anacondas are not currently threatened, loss of habitat in tropical rainforests affects their populations.
