A full-stack developer is someone who can take a project from conception to a finished product, handling both front-end and back-end development. They have a wide range of skills across the stack rather than deep expertise in one area. Full-stack developers are well-suited for small startups but may face more scaling challenges in larger companies with more specialized roles. The document discusses technologies used in full-stack development and tips for learning new skills like contributing to open source projects.

Difference BW Frontend and Backend DevelopmentFunctionUp
Both Frontend and backend development are important to learn, but do you know the actual difference? Here we showcase the main difference between frontend and backend development.
The frontend is the part the user interacts with through a graphical user interface (GUI) however the backend part of the website remains inaccessible to the user.
The visual aspects of the website are the front end and the way the website functions is determined by the backend.
The front end uses languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while the backend uses backend including Express, Ruby, Laravel, etc.
Clearly, the frontend and backend development are quite different from each other both in their functions, frameworks, and programming language.
We are a team of IIT / ISB alumni who are passionate about solving the key problem of starting a career in tech. A lot of smart and hardworking graduates find it difficult to crack high paying tech jobs either because of their background and their college not being able to help them get interviews. Hence, we started this pay after placement boot camp that hand holds people from skilling till employment.

Building Automated REST APIs with PythonJeff Knupp
Writing REST APIs with ORMs and web frameworks is a chore. I'm lazy, and I don't want to write boring code. In this talk, I'll go over what REST APIs are, why they're useful, and why we should never have to write one from scratch again.
By the end of this talk, we'll have achieved developer Nirvana: a RESTful API service and Admin interface for existing databases *without writing any code*.
Developing RESTful Web APIs with Python, Flask and MongoDBNicola Iarocci
Presented at EuroPython 2012. The abstract: "In the last year we have been working on a full featured, Python powered, RESTful Web API. We learned quite a few things on REST best patterns, and we got a chance to put Python’s renowned web capabilities under review, even releasing a couple Open Source projects in the process. In my talk I will share what we learned. We will consider ‘pure’ REST API design and its many hurdles. We will look at what Python as to offer in this field and finally, we will dig further down by looking at some of the code we developed. Some of the technologies/stacks I’ll cover are (in no particular order): Flask, PyMongo, MongoDB, REST, JSON, XML, Heroku. Did you know? Like it or not, there is going to be a REST API in your future."
Turning the Heat up on DevOps: Providing a web-based editing experience aroun...Michael Elder
We’ll present a web-based editing experience around Heat Orchestration Templates. We have created a unified editing experience leveraging diagram and text-based metaphors into one seamless flow. We have also extended the Heat engine to support full-stack deployment by integrating application deployment capabilities from IBM UrbanCode Deploy. We’ll demonstrate creating ready to deploy HOT documents which capture Compute, Network, and Storage resources as well as our own extensions around software configuration and deployment resources.
We’ll describe how our solution supports three characteristics for Software Defined Environments:
- Organic: Support creating and updating environments in place as their purpose or architecture changes over time.
- Version-aware: We’ll show incorporating native scm solutions like git as part of the web-based interface to version and update templates across multiple environments.
- Fullstack Engineering: We’ll describe templates which capture cloud resources and software resources as part of a unified template which can then provision cloud resources and deploy software in one action.
Our extensions to Heat will be described along with our experiences in extending the engine as a vendor.

Slides for my talk at OpenSlava conference 2013-10-11.
Abstract: Integrated Development Environments are at the neuralgic centre of developer activities. For many of us it’s unconceivable to work in complex developments leveraging multiple heterogeneous tools for design, build and test activities without the IDE connecting them all.
IDEs are powerful tools, capable of handling many types of tasks. In many cases, IDEs are perceived as a commodity but this is a naïve approach that ignores the many brilliant features that IDEs can be used for: debugging, code generation, test automation, version control, quality assurance, task & issue management, etc.
During this talk, participants will get an overview of what IDEs mean today, for the newbie, the enterprise and the hard-core developer, will get introduced to key IDE features that every one of us should be using, and will participate on an open discussion about what next-generation IDEs should look like.

Build, deploy and scale: Django, GraphQL and SPA (DjangoCon EU 2021)Dhilipsiva DS
After building, deploying and scaling a dozen on products with the Django + GraphQL + SPA (React) setup, we have come to understand what works and what does not. In this talk, I will share our findings on how to do the same.
I will be using a simplified StackOverflow clone for demonstration. First, I will introduce Python-Graphene (and few other related libraries), the library that is used to build GraphQL endpoints. Then the talk will focus on how to structure your Django GraphQL project. Share the toolchain (a few management command scripts) that are handy to export your constants & GraphQL schemas to be used with your SPA. Integrating with an SPA (React for demo purpose) Auth, API calls.
Then I will talk about how you go about deploying your API using 2 different strategies:
1. Docker compose / swarm (Vendor independent, non-production workloads)
2. AWS Fargate (Vendor dependant, production workloads, serverless containers)
And a cost-effective and highly scale-able deployment strategy for your SPA (using AWS S3, CloudFront and ACM).

In software engineering, the right architecture is essential for robust, scalable platforms. Wix has undergone a pivotal shift from event sourcing to a CRUD-based model for its microservices. This talk will chart the course of this pivotal journey.
Event sourcing, which records state changes as immutable events, provided robust auditing and "time travel" debugging for Wix Stores' microservices. Despite its benefits, the complexity it introduced in state management slowed development. Wix responded by adopting a simpler, unified CRUD model. This talk will explore the challenges of event sourcing and the advantages of Wix's new "CRUD on steroids" approach, which streamlines API integration and domain event management while preserving data integrity and system resilience.
Participants will gain valuable insights into Wix's strategies for ensuring atomicity in database updates and event production, as well as caching, materialization, and performance optimization techniques within a distributed system.
Join us to discover how Wix has mastered the art of balancing simplicity and extensibility, and learn how the re-adoption of the modest CRUD has turbocharged their development velocity, resilience, and scalability in a high-growth environment.
