This document discusses the presentation of dreams through frustration in auteur cinema. It analyzes the Turkish film "Sonbahar" as an example. The film uses aesthetic structure to contain negation that complements the questioning form and will produce permanent meanings, revealing the hope inherent in frustration. The article examines auteur cinema in relation to ideology, reality, and creating permanent meaning through form. It argues that auteur cinema can have a transformative effect by presenting dreams through the theme of frustration, as this allows for critical interpretation that transcends the current social situation.

Reflections of Global Financial Crisis on Culture Industry: A Study on Films ...inventionjournals
The aim of the study is to investigate the footprints of culture industry on crisis themed films which produced after the global financial crisis of 2008 erupted first in the U.S.A. and later spread around the world. Examining a social phenomenon (industry and markets) with films (culture) is important because there are commonalities between these variables like mounting technique in the beginning and imaginary character in the present. Internet Movie Database (IMDB) named web site was used as data source to this study. Number of 47 films determined by keywords search in the database and ten films with highest ranking scores (gross revenue, public ratings, metascore, and moviemeter) from number of these 47 titles selected as research sample. Correlation analysis showed no relationship between these revenues and rankings variables. Content analysis conducted on the selected films according to hypotheses of the study. Classification of genres, joint producing companies, outsourcing services, rankings, budgeting and gross revenues are all giving tips about culture industry characteristic of the films. But, productions with critical and historical approaches are exception to these findings.

The current article traces the conceptual transformations of cinema. It begins by problematizing the historical genesis of cinema and the major role culture plays in both its emergence and development. The role of culture is further illustrated through the shifts that cinema has undergone from a site of spectacle to a means of expression; from cinema of attraction to cinema of narrative integration. Within the debate of cinematic development and conceptualizations, this study comprehensively discusses two broad and almost overlapped definitions: cinema as an art and cinema as an ideology. The aesthetic aspects of cinema, along with their challenges and defenses, are discussed in terms of the artistically external and internal characteristics, while the ideological features are investigated in relation to the sociopolitical orientation of cinematic content and the ideological manipulation of the formal elements. To account for the complex debate about cinema, we conclude by defining it within the framework of discourse to recognize the possibilities of the articulation of resistance and agency.
Visual Perception and Reception of Boubakar Diallos Julie et Roméo in Cameroonijtsrd
Modern African film cultures are receiving a new form of acceptability and audiences beyond the borders of Africa. This is illustrated by the growth, development and spread of the Nigerian and Ghanian film industries. While African audiences perceive them as 'Pan African', the development of film culture in Cameroon follows a different trajectory, with audience critiques of non representativeness of Cameroonian films. It is in this context that a Burkinabe film, Julie et Romeo, by Boubacar Diallo, itself an African adaptation of Shakespeare's play, became one of the most well received films in Cameroon. Two factors accounted for this, the film's aesthetic appeal and the director's engagement with his potential audience. I argue here that audience sensitivity is neglected in Cameroonian accounting for low reception of Cameroonian films. By analysing audience reception of Diallo's film, I map out a strategy for audience engagement in the production and receptivity of Cameroonian films as a way of improving their aesthetics, quality and wider appeal. This paper presents the problems of film makers and film making in Bangladesh and points out how the problems are militating against the prospects of the Bangladesh film industry. It proposes a radical restructuring of the film industry in Bangladesh in order to facilitate its indigenous development. To this end, it suggests the privatization of the film distribution and exhibition sections so as to achieve a viable integration of the whole industry and to promote it as a vehicle for cultural-and socio-economic development of the people of Bangladesh. However we find that these problems can be overcome by initiating quality movies and by incorporating business concept in film making.
