ARTIST INFO:
DEADMAU5 Joel Zimmerman, the dance music phenomenon better known as Deadmau5
(pronounced “dead mouse”), is possibly the most well known name in the scene. Zimmerman
didn't set out to become a groundbreaking electronic artist. In fact, his first official release in 2006,
“This Is The Hook” started out as a joke, but quickly made it to Number 1 in the online record
store Beatport’s chart. After this, he wrote “Faxing Berlin”, which turned into one of the biggest
records of 2007. Today, he is one of the most awarded and sought-after acts in the scene. He's
dropped three critically acclaimed albums: “4×4=12”, “For Lack Of A Better Name” and “Random
Album Title” and seen international chart success with multiple singles. He’s won numerous
awards, including multiple JUNO Awards and received three Grammy Award nominations.
He performed at the 2012 Grammy Awards as part of the first-ever telecast celebrating electronic
music, was the first electronic artist in history to grace the cover of Rolling Stone, and Las Vegas
even proclaimed January 2, 2012 as “Deadmau5 day”. In his performances, Deadmau5 plays
mostly his own material. “There are no CDs involved,” he explains. “It’s a technological orgy up
there and I try and keep it more my music than anyone else’s. If people come out to see
Deadmau5 I want them to hear Deadmau5 music.” It’s no surprise that Deadmau5 has reached
legendary status as he continues to dominate dance floors across the world.
TIESTO This worldwide electronic dance music legend, DJ, and producer hails from the
Netherlands. His goal from the very beginning has been to share his music with others. He
started DJing professionally at the age of fourteen at school parties before becoming a resident
DJ at The Spock, a Dutch club in his hometown. In 1997 he partnered with Arny Bink to create
Black Hole Recordings where he recorded his Spage Age and Magik series. Tiesto was the first
DJ to play live on stage at an Olympic Games in the summer games of 2004, and was given the
title of “#1 DJ” by Rolling Stone. He’s worked with high profile artists including Kanye West, John
Legend, and Katy Perry and worked with top brands including Guess and Audiofly. Tiesto’s been
nominated for two Grammy Awards and has been considered one of the world’s greatest DJ’s by
many.
ADVENTURE CLUB Since their start in 2010, this Montreal-based electric duo has taken the
dance music scene by storm. Influenced by artists like Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, and Tiesto, they’ve
created a signature sound by meshing ground shaking dubstep with delicate vocals and upbeat
melodies. In 2011, Adventure Club’s video for their remix of Lips’ “Everything to Me,” in which
they were adorned in red and blue super hero outfits and battled an army of cardboard cut-out
monsters, racked up more than two million views on YouTube. They’ve been sporting this
superhero theme ever since, and named their national tour Superheroes Anonymous. In similar
fashion, they released their debut EP in 2013, “Calling All Heroes,” which hit #1 on the iTunes
Dance Album chart in the U.S. and Canada.
ALL GONE PETE TONG The All Gone Pete Tong Stage is a world renown brand that brings true
house music to festivals around the world, curated by the one and only Pete Tong. Pete Tong is
an influential figure in the underground house scene, showcasing his sounds and those of his
label on his BBC Radio 1 show with listeners tuning in around the globe. We are proud to
announce The All Gone Pete Tong experience will be at this year’s FreakNight.
CARNAGE Climbing the dance music ladder seemingly overnight after his remix of Hardwell’s
“Spaceman,” Carnage is known for his high energy performances. Playing a hybrid of hip-hop,
festival trap and big room house, he has a diverse and unique sound that is truly his own. With
the production on RiFF Raff’s lead single, “Dolce and Gabbana,” a SiriusXM radio show,
performances at top festivals including EDC Las Vegas, and free burritos for life from Chipotle,
there’s no telling what this talented artist will do next.
DIPLO This groundbreaking DJ and producer is one of the most impressive and dynamic forces
in today’s music. In 2004 released his first debut album, “Florida,” which caught the attention of
M.I.A., who he then partnered with to make the pivotal mixtape “Piracy Funds Terrorism Vol. 1.”
Diplo’s continued work with M.I.A., including the release of the Grammy nominated track “Paper
Planes” that sold more than three million copies, made him one of the most coveted producers in
the world. The recording studio he built in North Philly became home to artists like Christina
Aguilera and Shakira, and his record label, Mad Decent, features a wide range of artists including
Lil’ Jon, Dillon Francis, Gucci Mane, and Santigold. Diplo was Grammy nominated for “Producer
of the Year” in 2013 and graced the cover of Billboard Magazine. Diplo holds a residency in Las
Vegas, radio shows on Sirius XM and BBC Radio 1, and models for campaigns of fashion
designer Alexander Wang. It looks like continued global domination is in store for this talented
artist.
NERO Hailing from London and made up of producers Dan Stephens and Joey Ray along with
vocalist Alana Watson, Nero was born as a drum’n’bass act in 2004. Since then, they have
evolved into a mixture of dubstep beats with classic house melodies and dreamy vocals. In 2008,
they made their shift towards dubstep with their single “This Way.” They continued releasing hit
singles including “Innocence,” and “Guilt,” that catapulted them into the spotlight. Nero was
awarded the “Best Dubstep Act” in 2010 by Beatport and won a Grammy for their collaborative
remix with Skrillex of “Promises” in 2013. Their new song, "The Thrill," with it's retro 80's vibe,
proves that Nero is back with a vengeance.
NICKY ROMERO This breakthrough DJ, producer, and label head started producing music early
in life. His signature sound, an alluring blend of progressive house mixed with electro and acid,
caught the attention of David Guetta with his remix of “When Love Takes Over.” Guetta then
became his mentor, and the two have since then collaborated on multiple projects and a
residency at Guetta’s FMIF club night in Ibiza. Romero exploded into the DJ Magazine Top 100
chart in 2012 at number 17, and has since risen to number 8 in 2015. His record label, Protocol
Records, has been noted as a leading dance music platform and hosts up and coming artists like
John Dahlback, Viceton, and Don Diablo. He also hosts Protocol Radio, an hour-long weekly
podcast show that receives over 40 million listeners a week. Romero’s talent and tenacity have
proved that he is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
