A famous conquistador for Spain
 Francisco was born in Salamanca, Spain in the
    year 1510.
 He left home at an early age because his
wealthy parents promised the family fortune to
his older brother when they died.
 Francisco sailed to Mexico in the new world.
 Was a Spanish governor in the new world
 Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was a Spanish
nobleman who explored and the first who
discovered the southwestern part of what is
    now the United States.
 Discovered the southwestern part of what is
    now the United States.
 Was the first Europeans to travel up the Rio
    Grande.
 Also found many Indian settlements and
    explored the Grand canyon.
 Was a governor for the Spanish in the new
    world.
 Between 1536-1539 Francisco heard stories
about the seven golden cities of Cibolo, but
    never found it.
 And mostly traveled by land.
 His expeditions gave much geographic
knowledge of the new world’s southwest
    region.
 What I realized about Francisco was that he
had disappointed the Spanish king because he
found no riches but also appointed a new
governor because he had tried so hard.
 he was accused of mistreating and abusing the
    Native Americans.
 Then died in 1554.
