Francisco Buencamino was a renowned Filipino musician born in 1883. He learned to play the organ at age 12 and studied music at Liceo De Manila, taking courses in composition, harmony, and piano. Though he did not complete his studies, he had a prolific career as a teacher, collaborator, and musical director. Buencamino founded the Buencamino Music Academy and composed works in various styles, including kundimans and zarzuelas. He made significant contributions to Filipino music as a composer, performer, and educator before his death in 1952.
