This document discusses the three types of consumers in a food chain: primary, secondary, and tertiary consumers. Primary consumers, like herbivores, eat plants and get energy directly from them. Secondary consumers eat primary consumers, and tertiary consumers eat secondary consumers to obtain energy. Examples of food chains provided are grass-grasshopper-shrew-owl and rabbit-fox-lion.
