Before starting the semester:
• Teachers are opening respective facebook page,
• Students are invited to this closed closed community
Before the lecture that takes place every Wednesday teachers do
the following (until Friday):
• Form the facebook „event” (= single lecture) on the fb page
• Upload the lesture presentation
• Upload topics / dilemmas for each lecture
Student "view & do" (until Tuesday before lecture):
• „View”: studying presentation, understanding topics/ dilemmas
• „Do”: decision on a single topic (individual processing) or
dilemma (two or more students advcating options), i-research
and short essay (facebook post)
• Other students and teachers comment post and answering
• Teachers score essays (max 4 points), max 0.5 points for online
discussion.
„Flipped Classroom” concept – process
steps BEFORE the lecture
Mađarić: Flipped Claccroom V4.0
During the lecture:
• Student presents the topic and explain their essay
• Two or more students advocate the options from dilema
– Awarded with max. 1 point
• Along with the lecture a discussion is held
– Awarded with max. 0.5 points
After the lecture:
• Teachers score the total engagement of each student
– Max. Of 6 points per lecture is possible (= 78 out of
maximum 100 points for whole semester)
– This maximum of 78 points + 2 points for poresence is
enough for „B” grade without oral final exam
• Final oral exam for „A” grade: questions on topics that the
student has elaborated in essays.

Flipped classroom for "Algebra" High School, Zagreb, Croatia

  • 1. Before starting the semester: • Teachers are opening respective facebook page, • Students are invited to this closed closed community Before the lecture that takes place every Wednesday teachers do the following (until Friday): • Form the facebook „event” (= single lecture) on the fb page • Upload the lesture presentation • Upload topics / dilemmas for each lecture Student "view & do" (until Tuesday before lecture): • „View”: studying presentation, understanding topics/ dilemmas • „Do”: decision on a single topic (individual processing) or dilemma (two or more students advcating options), i-research and short essay (facebook post) • Other students and teachers comment post and answering • Teachers score essays (max 4 points), max 0.5 points for online discussion. „Flipped Classroom” concept – process steps BEFORE the lecture Mađarić: Flipped Claccroom V4.0
  • 2. During the lecture: • Student presents the topic and explain their essay • Two or more students advocate the options from dilema – Awarded with max. 1 point • Along with the lecture a discussion is held – Awarded with max. 0.5 points After the lecture: • Teachers score the total engagement of each student – Max. Of 6 points per lecture is possible (= 78 out of maximum 100 points for whole semester) – This maximum of 78 points + 2 points for poresence is enough for „B” grade without oral final exam • Final oral exam for „A” grade: questions on topics that the student has elaborated in essays. „Flipped Classroom” concept – process steps DURING and AFTER the lecture Mađarić: Flipped Claccroom V4.0
