Diabetes is a defect in the body’s ability to convert glucose (sugar) to energy. Glucose is the main source of fuel for our body. When food is digested it is changed into fats, protein, or carbohydrates. Foods that affect blood sugars are called carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates, when digested, change to glucose. Examples of some carbohydrates are: bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, corn, fruit, and milk products. Individuals with diabetes should eat carbohydrates but must do so in moderation.
Glucose is then transferred to the blood and is used by the cells for energy. In order for glucose to be transferred from the blood into the cells, the hormone - insulin is needed. Insulin is produced by the beta cells in the pancreas (the organ that produces insulin).
Flaxseed - a nutritional powerhouse whole grain food has so many benefits for fighting diabetes.
As part of a balanced and healthy diet, flax for diabetes is so excellent because it helps stabilize blood sugar and controls/prevents diabetes.
Flax is a low glycemic food and has many benefits l due to the Omega 3, fiber, protein and Lignans found in flaxseed.
Our body’s operating system performs high tech multi tasking operations. Sugar and insulin are very important.
When we eat food, our body produces insulin to help keep blood sugar levels under control.
The more vegetables, whole grains and low glycemic foods we eat, the easier it is for our body to keep blood sugars stable and within the normal levels.
The more processed foods, sugar, white flours, white rice, etc; the harder it will be to control blood sugar levels and the more likely it is that we will suffer from diabetes and it's consequences.
14 Gm Flaxseed contains protein 2.56 gm,
fat 5.9 gm,
Moisture 0.97 gm,
and ash 0.53 gm,
_____________________________
So total is 9.86 gm,
Remaining amount 14 – 9.86 = 4.04
corresponds to carbohydrate.
In this 4.04 gms of carb Flax has got 3.8 gm fiber, So actual sugar is 4.04 – 3.8 = 0.24 gm, which is comparatively negligible amount so practically Flax is called a ZERO carb food.
(Remember fiber belongs to carbs but is not absorbed in the intestines and does not raise blood sugar level)
Flaxseed, also known as linseed, is a blue flowering crop that produces seeds rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), lignans, and fiber. These components have various health benefits including reduced risk of heart disease and cancer. Clinical trials show that consuming 15-50 grams of ground flaxseed per day can modestly lower cholesterol. Flaxseed may also improve glucose metabolism and reduce inflammation. Animal studies indicate flaxseed supplementation can reduce breast and prostate tumor growth rates. The Pennington Biomedical Research Center conducts research on nutrition, obesity, functional foods, and chronic disease prevention.
Flaxseeds are the richest source of α-linolenic acid and lignans. It is also a considerable potential source of soluble fiber, antioxidants and high quality protein. The role of flaxseed lignans and ω-3 fatty acid in reducing the risks associated with cardiac and coronary disease, cancer (breast, colon, ovary and prostate) and other human health risk factors has been well known.

This study examined the effects of flaxseed supplementation on lipid levels in 32 children and adolescents with hypercholesterolemia. Participants consumed either muffins and bread containing ground flaxseed or placebo muffins and bread for 4 weeks. The study found that flaxseed supplementation resulted in a decrease in HDL cholesterol and an increase in triglyceride levels compared to the placebo. The use of flaxseed supplementation did not provide benefits and may adversely affect the lipid profile in children with hypercholesterolemia.
1. Cellular transport occurs through passive or active methods. Passive transport relies on diffusion or facilitates diffusion down a concentration gradient, while active transport requires energy to move substances against a gradient.
2. The cell cycle involves interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis to duplicate a cell's contents and divide it into two daughter cells. During interphase, the cell grows and copies its DNA. Mitosis then divides the nucleus and chromosomes. Cytokinesis finally divides the cytoplasm.
3. Factors like diffusion limits, DNA and organelle replication needs, and surface area to volume ratios constrain cell size, requiring cell division for growth. Cancer results from uncontrolled cell division leading to tumors that can metastasize.
This document summarizes research on flaxseed and its lignan content. It finds that flaxseed is exceptionally high in lignans, which are plant compounds that may have several health benefits. Studies discussed found that lignans from flaxseed may help reduce symptoms of menopause, support prostate and breast health, lower risk of heart disease and cancer, and help conditions like hair loss and acne. The document provides an overview of research on lignans and recommends consuming 1-3 tablespoons of ground flaxseed daily to obtain potential health benefits from its lignan content.
This document provides information about flaxseeds (also known as linseeds). It discusses the flax plant structure, history of flaxseed use in India and other regions, how flaxseeds are grown and harvested, nutritional composition and health benefits of flaxseeds. Key points include that flaxseeds are high in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and lignans, and may provide benefits for heart, digestive and brain health. The document also covers processing methods for flaxseeds, such as solvent extraction and expeller pressing to produce flaxseed oil, as well as commercial products containing flaxseeds.
Flaxseed provides several health benefits due to its high concentration of essential fatty acids and other nutrients. It can help improve nerve and brain health, regulate blood sugar levels, support weight loss and heart health. Research also shows flaxseed may help fight cancer and support skin, hair and colon health. However, flaxseed oil can interact with some medications and the seeds have a strong taste that is not appealing to all.

What is the Black Seed?
Its botanical name is Nigella sativa. It is believed to be indigenous to the Mediterranean region but has been cultivated into other parts of the world including the Arabian peninsula, northern Africa and parts of Asia.
The Black seeds originate from the common fennel flower plant (Nigella sativa) of the buttercup (Ranunculaceae) family. It is sometimes mistakenly confused with the fennel herb plant (Foeniculum vulgare).
The plant has finely divided foliage and pale bluish purple or white flowers. The stalk of the plant reaches a height of twelve to eighteen inches as its fruit, the black seed, matures.
The Black Seed forms a fruit capsule which consists of many white trigonal seeds. Once the fruit capsule has matured, it opens up and the seeds contained within are exposed to the air, becoming black in color.
The Black seeds are small black grains with a rough surface and an oily white interior, similar to onion seeds. The seeds have little bouquet, though when rubbed, their aroma resembles oregano. They have a slightly bitter, peppery flavor and a crunchy texture.
The Black Seed is also known by other names, varying between places. Some call it black caraway, others call it black cumin, onion seeds or even coriander seeds. The plant has no relation to the common kitchen herb, cumin.
Muslims’ use of the Black Seed:
Muslims have been using and promoting the use of the Black Seed for hundreds of years, and hundreds of articles have been written about it. The Black Seed has also been in use worldwide for over 3000 years. It is not only a prophetic herb, but it also holds a unique place in the medicine of the Prophet .
It is unique in that it was not used profusely before the Prophet Muhammad made its use popular. Although there were more than 400 herbs in use before the Prophet Muhammad and recorded in the herbals of Galen and Hippocrates, the Black Seed was not one of the most popular remedies of the time. Because of the way Islam has spread, the usage and popularity of the Black Seed is widely known as a "remedy of the Prophet ." In fact, a large part of this herbal preparation's popularity is based on the teachings of the Prophet .

Biography of Dr. Johanna Budwig in Health of India (Covery Story)Om Verma
Definitively Budwig Protocol is a miracle cure for cancer with documented 90% success if you follow this treatment perfectly and religiously. This treatment targets on prime cause of cancer. Prime cause of Cancer is oxygen deficiency in the cells. Two factors are essential to attract oxygen in the cells: 1- Sulfur containing protein (found in cottage cheese) and 2- some unknown fat which nobody could identify until 1949 when Dr. Budwig developed paperchromatography technique to identify fats. These fats were Alpha-linolenic acid and linoleic acid found abundantly in FLAX OIL. Thus she developed Cancer therapy based on Flax oil and cottage cheese.
After the advent of "lipid hypothesis", which linked the consumption of dietary fat with increased risk of heart disease and other health problems, fat was highly defamed by the medical establishment that many people started thinking that the best answer to the "fat problem" is to stay away from it as far as possible. Food processing companies quickly took advantage of this era of “fat phobia”, and soon flooded the market with "low fat" and "no fat" products, promising to put an end to heart disease and obesity, but the incidence of these diseases is still skyrocketing.
The truth is that not all fats are equal. While the consumption of some bad fats (trans-fats) are, really, a risk factor for many health problems, some other fats, including alpha-linolenic acid ALA and linoleic acid LA, are so important for health that they have been termed "essential fatty acids" (EFAs). Our body needs them to perform vitally important functions, but our body is unable to produce them. Therefore, we must get them from our food. That's why any attempt to indiscriminately reduce or eliminate all fats from our diet inevitably leads to an EFA deficiency, which may be very dangerous to health.
For all the good it does, fat is often blamed to cause obesity, because it contains 9 calories per gram, in contrast to carbohydrate and protein which contain only 4 calories. Yet, it's a mistake to relate dietary fat with body fat. You can get fat by eating carbs and protein, even if you eat little dietary fat.
In 1956, Hugh Sinclair, one of the world's greatest researchers in the field of nutrition, suggested that an upsurge in the so-called "diseases of civilization" e.g. coronary heart disease, strokes, type-2 diabetes, arthritis and cancer - was caused by modern diets being extremely poor in essential fatty acids (EFA) and full of processed foods rich in trans-fatty acids. Although Sinclair's opinion was not supported by his pears, and he was even criticized by some of them for his bold hypothesis; later research convincingly showed that he was, indeed, correct. In fact, he is now praised for insights that were far ahead of his time.
Fat gives us beauty, shape and protection. A thin fat layer located under the skin helps to insulate and maintain the proper body temperature. Fat is used as a source of backup energy when carbohydrates are not available. Vitamin A, D, E and K are known as fat-soluble vitamins, need fat in order to be absorbed and stored. Fats are also responsible for making sex hormones, cell membranes and prostaglandins.
The Role of Urethra in Female Orgasm

Flax is a rich source of plant lignans that are converted by gut bacteria into mammalian lignans called enterodiol and enterolactone. These mammalian lignans have antioxidant and hormone-balancing properties that are beneficial for heart health, bone health, cancer prevention, and other conditions. Lignans from flax have been shown to reduce risk factors for diseases like cardiovascular disease and cancers of the breast and prostate by binding to estrogen receptors, inhibiting enzymes involved in hormone synthesis, and reducing oxidative stress.

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.
Our backs are like superheroes, holding us up and helping us move around. But sometimes, even superheroes can get hurt. That’s where slip discs come in.

3. Diabetes is a defect in the body’s ability to convert glucose (sugar) to
energy. Glucose is the main source of fuel for our body. When food
is digested it is changed into fats, protein, or carbohydrates. Foods
that affect blood sugars are called carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates, when digested, change to glucose. Examples of some
carbohydrates are: bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, corn, fruit, and milk
products. Individuals with diabetes should eat carbohydrates but
must do so in moderation.
Glucose is then transferred to the blood and is used by the cells for
energy. In order for glucose to be transferred from the blood into
the cells, the hormone - insulin is needed. Insulin is produced by the
beta cells in the pancreas (the organ that produces insulin).
4. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego
School of Medicine have discovered that chronic
inflammation provoked by immune cells called
macrophages leads to insulin resistance and Type 2
diabetes.
Diabetes is basically a Fat syndrome (a disorder of Fat
Metabolism), the sugar problem is secondary and comes
after that.

Flaxseed is a good source of Omega-3 Fatty acids and
viscous fiber. Consuming flaxseed on regular basis may
reduce the risk of progressing from pre-diabetes to type
2 diabetes and heart disease through various
mechanisms. One recent study has shown that 13-26 g. of
flaxseed daily in addition to regular diet, can decrease
glucose, insulin and insulin sensitivity in individuals
with pre-diabetes.

6. Flaxseed - a nutritional powerhouse whole grain food
has so many benefits for fighting diabetes.
As part of a balanced and healthy diet, flax for
diabetes is so excellent because it helps stabilize
blood sugar and controls/prevents diabetes.
Flax is a low glycemic food and has many benefits l
due to the Omega 3, fiber, protein and Lignans found
in flaxseed.
7. Our body’s operating system performs high tech
multi tasking operations. Sugar and insulin are very
important.
When we eat food, our body produces insulin to
help keep blood sugar levels under control.
The more vegetables, whole grains and low glycemic
foods we eat, the easier it is for our body to keep
blood sugars stable and within the normal levels.
The more processed foods, sugar, white flours, white
rice, etc; the harder it will be to control blood sugar
levels and the more likely it is that we will suffer
from diabetes and it's consequences.
8. Flaxseed is an excellent low glycaemic food (G.I. of
flax is 32) and flax will help stabilize blood sugars.
This means that blood sugar levels that spike when
you eat sugary and white flour/ white rice type of
foods will not spike when you eat flax.
With flax, blood sugar levels will slowly and
smoothly rise to a lower curve and then the blood
sugar levels will stay there for a longer period of time.
After a few hours, your blood sugar level will slowly
go down, this is the key to how flaxseed benefits
diabetes.
9. 14 Gm Flaxseed contains protein 2.56 gm,
fat 5.9 gm,
Moisture 0.97 gm,
and ash 0.53 gm,
_____________________________
So total is 9.86 gm,
Remaining amount 14 – 9.86 = 4.04
corresponds to carbohydrate.
In this 4.04 gms of carb Flax has got 3.8 gm fiber, So actual
sugar is 4.04 – 3.8 = 0.24 gm, which is comparatively
negligible amount so practically Flax is called a ZERO
carb food.
(Remember fiber belongs to carbs but is not absorbed in the intestines
and does not raise blood sugar level)
10. Flax has 3 fibers insoluble, soluble and mucilage fiber (a
type of soluble fiber). These fibers fill up the stomach and
take longer to digest - this means that blood sugar level
spikes slowly, remains steady for longer and so we feel
full for longer!
Our blood sugars don't have to constantly fluctuate up
and down because the fiber keeps them stable for longer.
Soluble fiber slows down the absorption of glucose and
helps the body manage glucose levels and insulin
production smoothly.
Flax for diabetics is an economical and powerful step to
take to help stabilize blood sugars toward the goals of
fighting and preventing diabetes!
11. Most of us are not getting enough Omega 3 in our
diet. This is a problem because Omega 3 is essential and
our bodies cannot make its’ own omega 3 –our body
must get omega 3 from what we eat.
One of the important roles of omega 3 is to tell our brains
that we are full and satiated. When we aren’t eating
enough omega 3. Our brain will think we are hungry
and our body is craving for nutrition and not getting
what it needs.
A great way to take a small step toward health is adding
flaxseed and diabetes can be better controlled or
prevented.
12. Diabetes results from chronic inflammation. This means in
diabetes our body is constantly burning at a low fire.
Blood vessels become hard, brittle and narrow, insulation
of nerves are damaged, body doesn’t function properly
and cellular aging is enhanced. This leads to many
complications.
Omega-3 fatty acids produce anti-inflammatory, anti-
clotting (thrombolytic), vasodilatory
prostaglandins, cytokines and leukotrines. Thus Not only
can flaxseed help stabilize blood sugar levels for longer
periods of time, but it can also help the body heal and
prevent worsening diabetes along with complications that
many diabetics presently suffer from or could potentially
have later on.
13. Lignans help to health the body, including the
pancreas, which is a key player in how the body
manages Insulin.
Thus Lignans stabilize blood sugar levels.
Lignans are powerful antioxidants and prevents aging.
14. Our body simply won’t work properly if we don’t get
the right nutrition.
Flaxseed is an easy and economic thing to add as part
of a balanced diet and can make dramatic differences in
our blood sugar as well as overall health.
Eat flax and sing balle balle.
15. Heart –
Flax lowers blood pressure.
Flax lowers triglycerides, total and LDL Cholesterol. It
also raises HDL cholesterol.
Flax is a natural aspirin – flax acts as a blood thinner by
so interfering with platelets' ability to stick together.
Regular flax eaters don’t need any aspirin or statin.
Flax prevents fatal arrhythmia.
Flax is powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
16. Foot –
Flax enhances proper blood circulation in foot and
reverses nerve damage, thus prevents neuropathy.
Flax keep skin and foot healthy.
Flax prevents infections, ulcers, wounds, gangrene as
well as amputations.
Sexual insufficiency –
Again due to vascular and nerve damage diabetic
patient develops sexual problems.
Flax prevents and cures Sexual problems of male as
well as females.
17. Eye –
Due to blood vessel damage patient develop diabetic
Retinopathy, which ultimately causes blindness. Flax
keeps blood vessels healthy and ensures better
circulation so it prevents Retinopathy.
Flax delays cataract and prevents glaucoma.
Flaxseed oil is best lubricant eye drops and helps in
dry eye syndrome.
18. Refined vegetable oils have been stripped of most of
their nutritional value, while Natural oils contain
vitamins, minerals and other nutritional factors. The
process of extracting the oils destroys this nutritive
value.
Refined oils are usually extracted using heat, then
degummed. They are usually partially hydrogenated, a
process which involves adding hydrogen to the oil in
the presence of nickel.
19. The final stage of making “refined oil” is to bleach it.
Sodium hydroxide is added to remove free fatty acids
and the bleaching process also removes beta-carotene
and the essential oils.
20. Processed oils are often heated to high temperatures, a
process which causes the formation of trans-fats.
Heating oils to just 300 degrees starts the process of
causing fatty acids to become mutagenic (cancer
causing). Trans-fatty acids start forming at 320 degrees
and at 392 degrees significant quantities of trans-fats
are formed. The more you reuse an oil for frying, the
more trans fats you’ll create.
21. For deep frying use coconut oil. This medium-chain
saturated fat is very heat stable and is also good for
you.
Butter, clarified butter and olive oil are also far far
better than hydrogenated fats for deep frying.
Water is best medium for frying.
For light stir frying use mustard oil .
22. Ideally, flax seed should be consumed in the grounded
form or as its oil. Remember that flax seed oil does not
contains the fiber, lignans etc.
Flax Chapatti - The best way is to mix grounded
flaxseed with multigrain flour and make chapatti or
pancake. In diabetes ideally take 20 gms flaxseed
twice daily.
23. Start slowly if you aren’t used to a high-fiber diet.
Grind it coarsely and drink plenty of water along with
the powder (or else they will just “pass through”). You
could have it with your cereals, yogurt or milk, shakes
and smoothies or even add it to homemade
cookies, vegetables or salads.
To get maximum benefits, 30 to 60 grams of ground
flax is recommended per day.
