Wild Oregano (Origanum Vulgare ) is a perennial herb that has purple flowers and spade-shaped, olive-green leaves. The whole plant has a strong, peculiar, fragrant, balsamic odour and a warm, bitterish, aromatic taste, both of which properties are preserved when the herb is dry. The oregano sold as a spice is either Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana) or Mexican Sage. There are over 40 oregano species, but the most therapeutically beneficial is the wild oregano or Origanum vulgare that's native to Mediterranean mountains. To obtain oregano oil, the dried flowers and leaves of the plant are harvested when the oil content of the plant is at its highest, and then distilled.

Oregano essential oil was tested for controlling parasite and microbial diseases in Mediterranean fish. Experiments showed oregano oil was effective against myxosporidian parasites infecting sea bream and sharpsnout sea bream, reducing prevalence by up to 50%. Oregano oil had no side effects or toxicity. A combination of amprolium and salinomycin was the most effective treatment but is now banned, while oregano oil provided benefits as a potential alternative with its antiparasitic properties and ability to stimulate the immune system without harming the fish.

After the advent of "lipid hypothesis", which linked the consumption of dietary fat with increased risk of heart disease and other health problems, fat was highly defamed by the medical establishment that many people started thinking that the best answer to the "fat problem" is to stay away from it as far as possible. Food processing companies quickly took advantage of this era of “fat phobia”, and soon flooded the market with "low fat" and "no fat" products, promising to put an end to heart disease and obesity, but the incidence of these diseases is still skyrocketing. The truth is that not all fats are equal. While the consumption of some bad fats (trans-fats) are, really, a risk factor for many health problems, some other fats, including alpha-linolenic acid ALA and linoleic acid LA, are so important for health that they have been termed "essential fatty acids" (EFAs). Our body needs them to perform vitally important functions, but our body is unable to produce them. Therefore, we must get them from our food. That's why any attempt to indiscriminately reduce or eliminate all fats from our diet inevitably leads to an EFA deficiency, which may be very dangerous to health. For all the good it does, fat is often blamed to cause obesity, because it contains 9 calories per gram, in contrast to carbohydrate and protein which contain only 4 calories. Yet, it's a mistake to relate dietary fat with body fat. You can get fat by eating carbs and protein, even if you eat little dietary fat. In 1956, Hugh Sinclair, one of the world's greatest researchers in the field of nutrition, suggested that an upsurge in the so-called "diseases of civilization" e.g. coronary heart disease, strokes, type-2 diabetes, arthritis and cancer - was caused by modern diets being extremely poor in essential fatty acids (EFA) and full of processed foods rich in trans-fatty acids. Although Sinclair's opinion was not supported by his pears, and he was even criticized by some of them for his bold hypothesis; later research convincingly showed that he was, indeed, correct. Unresolved trauma or shock - an important cause of cancer Germany’s famous Surgeon and Cancer Specialist Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer was studying psychological aspects of cancer and treatment since ten years. He examined and tested over 40,000 cancer patients. He was amazed that why cancer of an organ does not spread to neighboring organ, e.g. he never saw cancer cervix and cancer uterus in a same patient. He also noted that each of his cancer patients suffered a psychological stress or shock during last 3 to 5 years prior to diagnosis and he was not able to come out of that trauma. Each patient of Dr. Hamer also underwent CT scan of the head and in all cases he noticed some dark shadow or concentric circles somewhere in the brain. These dark circles would be in exactly the same place in the brain for the particular types of cancer. There was also a 100% correlation between the dark circles in the brain, the location of the cancer in the body and the specific type of unresolved conflict. It was very astonishing. During 1950-53, Dr. Budwig discovered new ways of fat analysis through the development of Paper Chromatography of fats. This meant that for the first time fats, fatty acids and lipoproteins could be detected directly even in the smallest proportions. With this technique she proved that electron rich highly unsaturated Linoleic and Linolenic fatty acids are the undiscovered decisive fats in respiratory enzyme function that Otto Warburg had been unable to find. Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune Disease

There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities. In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions. Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved. Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
