6. Executive Summery
We have taken F.L Group of Industries to know their HR functions and procedures they take into account
for employee testing and selection. We have talked to the general manager (GM) of F.L and came to a
point that F.L is a type of company that does not go through any kinds of functions of HR. Their HR
functions are conducted by the marketing department of the company and the organization secretary or
General Manager a vital role in selection procedure. They interview candidates of a few amounts for
office general posts such as clerk, accountant, receptionists, supervisor, office manager and factory
manager. By doing this term paper, we have learned about the interviewing procedures of employees and
labors of F.L Group of industries. We have mentioned the tests F.L. use for employee selection and the
tests which are undertaken to measure the honesty level of an employee or labors. We have also
mentioned in our term paper the format of the interview that F.L conducts to interview employees and
what types of questions they ask in an interview and so on.
7. COMPANY PROFILE
F.L Group of Industries is a manufacturing company of Garments Accessories. It was established
in 1998 by two brothers Md. Farid Miah, the chairman of the company and Md. Basir Miah, the
director of the company.
The products of the company are paper products, poly products, pvc products and poly (inj)
products.
F.L has many clients in local market and International Market. Some of the important clients of
F.L are Wal-Mart, H.M.N Fashions, Square Fashion Ltd., Ring shine Textiles Ltd. Road Runner,
Rupa Group and so on.
F.L to priority is to improve their performance, productivity and competitiveness. F.L’s
philosophy is always to be an efficient distributor of Raw materials to Readymade garments
Industry. F.L is always ready to meet any kind of challenges that comes in present and also in
future.
F.L has many mainly three organizational departments. They are Finance department, marketing
department and operational department. The HR functions of the company are handled by the
marketing department of the company with the coordination of the company’s general manager.
F.L selects employees on the basis of experience, skills and on the basis of reference checks.
They interview and select employees of a small amount and the procedures of their selection
process is given in the report.

9. Selection Objective:
F.L selection objective is to get the best employee for the right place in the right time.
As organization is run by employee, so employee must be trained, skilled and experienced to
perform their level best to the given task assigned to them.
F.L is also aware about its employees needs and wants and F.L always try to maintain employee-
oriented organization.
Preparations Taken Before Setting Selection Criteria:
F.L conducts job analysis before setting selection criteria. Job analysis is the procedure for
determining the duties and skill requirements of a job and the kind of person who should be hired
for it. Job analysis helps management decide what sort of people to recruit and hire. Estimate the
value of each job and its appropriate compensation, determining jobs specific activities and
performance standards, and how much training would be required for the job. Through job
analysis, management can also discover unassigned duties in an organization. By analyzing the
entire jobs requirement, F.L gives its requirement AD in newspaper or in any other print media.
Types of Tests F.L Apply:
i. Test of Motor Abilities: Test that measure motor abilities such as finger dexterity and
reaction time.
ii. Test of Physical Abilities: Test that measure static strength, dynamic strength, body
coordination and stamina.
iii. Test of Cognitive Abilities: Test that measure specific mental abilities such as inductive
and deductive reasoning, verbal comprehension, memory and numerical ability.
iv. Achievement Test: Test that measure what a person has already learned “Job
Knowledge” in areas like accounting, marketing or personnel.
10. v. Work Simulation: A simulation in which management candidates are asked to perform
realistic tasks in hypothetical situations and are scored on their performance.
Combination of test F.L uses at different types of Job/level:
1. For recruiting employee or workers at factory F.L applies the test of motor abilities and
the test of physical abilities in a combined way to find out whether the employee or
worker is fit to work in the factory or not.
2. For recruiting employee for general officer in management, F.L applies the test of
cognitive abilities and achievement test in a combined way to find out whether the
employee is smart, intelligent and experienced in management functions of an
organization.
3. For recruiting employee in marketing and finance department F.L applies the test of
cognitive abilities, achievement tests and work simulation test in a combined way to
find out whether the employee is experienced in accounting and marketing department,
whether the employee is prepared always to perform efficiently in realistic situations
and whether the employee is smart and intelligent enough to deal with all the
difficulties faced while performing a task.
