This document is a script for a story about Primrose Everdeen, whose name is drawn at the reaping to participate in the Hunger Games. In scene 1, Primrose reflects on the violence of the games outside. In scene 2, her sister Katniss warns her to stay safe. At the reaping in scene 3, Primrose's name is drawn, though Katniss volunteers to take her place but is not allowed to. On the train to the Capitol in scene 5, Primrose and her district partner Peter discuss working together in the games, with him focusing on attacking others and her on survival.

2. Scene 1, location-exterior 9:00am:
1. Diegetic sound: Birds twittering, in the background.
2. Diegetic sound: Sound of footsteps travelling along
gravel
3. Primrose (out loud to herself) if only it was different,
if death wasn’t glamorised, if war and fighting wasn’t
made into a show, they would realise.
4. Sound of a cannon
5. Primrose to herself “guess its time to go”
Scene 2, location- interior, 10:00AM:
6. Diegetic sound: Door swings open.
7. Katniss: “there you are, where were you? “
8. Primrose: “just outside Katniss, wondering-
9. Katniss(interrupting): “well just outside wondering is
not safe Prim”
10.Primrose: “Its sometimes peaceful”
11.Katniss: “well just stay inside the district and be
careful okay”
12.Katniss: “the reaping is today at noon, in case you
have forgotten and stay close”
13.Primrose: “how can I forget, my first reaping”
14.Katniss(sighs): I know Prim; I promise I will keep you
safe”
15.Katniss squeezes Prims hand, and smiles, Katniss then
exits the room.

Scene 3, location- exterior, 11:55am:
1. Diegetic sound: lots of people travel along the
gravel.
2. Diegetic sound: sound of soldier’s armor and weapons
clanging.
3. Diegetic sound: heavy breathing, and small
whimpering.
4. Non diegetic sound: boom.
5. Diegetic sound: travel comes to a halt
6. Diegetic sound: women heels walking comes to a halt.
7. Effie(clears her throat): Welcome, welcome to the
74th Hunger games, may the odds ever be in your
favor. Well ladies first.
8. Diegetic sound: heels clacking, shuffle of paper,
opening of paper.
9. Effie: Primrose Everdeen
10. Eerie high pitch sound as similar to when a bomb
goes off and affects peoples hearing.
11.Katniss: NO, NO Prim, Prim, I VOLUNTEER, I VOLUNTEER
AS TRIBUTE.
12.Silence
13.Effie: I’m afraid the capitol will not allow that…
Primrose Everdeen !
14.Katniss: NO, NO PRIM !
15.Diegetic sound: soldiers troop forward to restrain
Katniss
16.Katniss: get off me!
17.Diegetic sound: Katniss struggles, then gives in
18.Diegetic sound: Small quiet footsteps, heavy
breathing, climbing up the steps, footsteps come to a
halt.
19.Effie: your first time?
20.Primrose(quietly): yes.

1.Diegetic sound: heels clack, paper shuffles, and opens.
2.Effie: Peter Malark !
3.Diegetic sound: footsteps, climbing up the steps, which then
come to a halt.
4.Effie: congratulations Peter, well just look at our two
brave tributes, wonderful
5.Effie: well lets go then.
6.Non Diegetic sound: sad violin music plays
7.Diegetic sound: footsteps of people and soldiers marching
and leaving.
8.Katniss(sobs): Prim, I’m sorry, I’m sorry Prim
Scene 4, 12:30pm- interior
9.Diegetic sound: Doors swing open
10.Primrose: Katniss!
11.Katniss: Prim
12.Diegetic sound: sound of snivel, and hug.
13.Katniss: okay Prim, listen up, you do everything you
can to stay alive, you hear me, make sure you stock up on food
and water, and keep hidden when you are there, don’t do
anything dangerous, I will help you from the outside I
promise. Just please keep safe you hear me, you promise?
14.Primrose: I promise, Katniss, I’m scared
15.Katniss: I know, but don’t be, keep a clear head you hear
me, focus, keep safe for me okay, I love you
16.Primrose: I Love you too.
17.Diegetic sound: sound of soldiers footsteps approaching
18.Katniss(voice fading): I love you, I will help you okay,
keep safe, you promise
19.Diegetic sound: door swings shut

Scene 5, 1pm- exterior
1.Diegetic sound: high speed, modern train moving, clanking of
glasses.
2.Effie: this is Haymich, here’s you guide tutor if you like.
3.Haymich: grunts.
4.Peter: I’ thinking we should talk about strategies for
battle out there and survival, key tactics, you know.
5.Haymitch: wow wow, steady on, you here me, I am not in the
mood for this, look at me do I look I’m in the mood, we will
talk about this later alright.
6.Peter(disappointed): okay.
7.Peter: Katniss’s sister, right?
8.Primrose: yeah
9.Peter: don’t worry I will look after you okay, I can focus
on attacking the others and survival you can help obtain
resources, we will work out a plan okay, Haymitch is a good
mentor, believe it or not, he’s been in the hunger games too.
10.Primrose: okay, thanks, your really prepared for this
aren’t you?
11.Peter: yeah, you got to be haven’t yeah.
12.Primrose: katniss wants me to win, to come back home, I
don’t know if I will, if I can kill someone I barely know, to
fight and win this.
13.Peter: well lets keep that promise to Katniss and make sure
you come back home, don’t worry about killing yet, we can work
together I can attack, you can focus on survival and first
aid.
14.Primrose: thanks.
