PRINCIPLE OF OVERLOAD
This principle views exercise as a certain
form of stress that’s meant to strengthen the
body.
PRINCIPLE OF PROGRESSION
This principle deals with the intensity
of exercise training.
PRINCIPLE OF SPECIFICITY
This implies that the body will adapt to the
kind of activities that it performs.
PRINCIPLE OF INDIVIDUALITY
The exercise program should be individual-
specific; it should meet specific performance goals,
and it should suit the person’s attributes, lifestyle , and
nutritional preferences.
PRINCIPLE OF REVERSIBILITY
In order to maintain the benefits of overloading,
one must stay consistent in exercise. Too much rest, or
discounting exercise training will cause the body’s level
of physical fitness to deteriorate.
