The term appliqué is derived from French and Latin
words appliquer and applicare, respectively, which both
mean to join or attach. Like embroidery, it has a humble
beginning. The technique was used as a way to strengthen
worn areas of items or to patch holes that had formed.
A clothes iron (also flatiron,
smoothing iron, or simply iron) is
a small appliance that, when
heated, is used to press clothes to
remove creases. Domestic irons
generally range in operating
temperature from between 250 °F
(121 °C) to 360 °F (182 °C).
Make any design appropriate in accenting a plain
blouse. Position your design in the appropriate space in your
blouse. Apply the procedure on how to appliqué. Continue
working until it is finished. Your project will be evaluated based
