Electricite de France SA (EDF) is a French electric utility company that generates, transmits, distributes, imports and exports electricity using nuclear, coal and gas power. EDF reported revenues of €59.6 billion in 2012, with generation supplying accounting for 54% of sales. The French government owns 84% of EDF, with institutional investors owning the remaining shares. EDF has a market capitalization of €32.9 billion and trades on the Paris stock exchange.
