Providing and Promoting Hospice Care
Through Social Media

of Hospice Care in New Jersey.
• To Create an informational and
interactive social media platform.
• Hospice Care involvement has been
increasing.
• For every patient who receives
hospice care, there is at least one
more who could benefit.
• 80% of Americans would prefer to
die in their homes, free of pain, with
their families.
• Raising awareness of hospice care
will increase Hospice participation.
• An Embracing Hospice Care
Facebook page was created.
• The page was uploaded daily with
Hospice-related media for 2 months.
• Posts consisted of educational and
informative articles and videos.
• Data was collected on user
interaction and statistics using
Facebook Insight.
• 97 Facebook profiles viewed the
page, 65% were female, 34% were
male.
• 26 people engaged in posts and 10
people liked the Facebook page.
• 74 % of likes were female, 23%
were male.
• A total of 97 people reached were
educated in hospice affairs.
• Limitations existed for profile’s
gender, excluding transgender and
non-binary.
• New patients will be surveyed on
how they learned about Embracing
Hospice Care.
• The results will show the Facebook
Page’s effectiveness in increasing
Hospice awareness.
