Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin as a research project at Stanford University. It has since grown to be a multinational technology company that offers several popular internet services such as Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Chrome, Google Photos, YouTube, Android, and Google Play. Google also focuses on hardware products like Google Pixel smartphones, Google Home smart speakers, and other devices. It generates revenue primarily from advertising on its services.

Googleinitially known as BackRub, It’s is a search engine that
was founded by PHD students Sergey Brin and Larry Page as a
research project at Stanford University in order to find files on the
Internet. Larry and Sergey later decided the name of their search
engine needed to change and decide upon Google, which is inspired
from the term googol. The name was a play on the mathematical
expression for the number 1 followed by 100 zero.

• Gmail is a free, advertising-supported email service developed by
Google.
• Gmail started as a limited beta release on April 1, 2004, and ended its
testing phase on July 7, 2009.
• At launch, Gmail had an initial storage capacity offer of 1 GB per user, a
significantly higher amount than competitors offered at the time. Today,
the service comes with 15 GB of free storage. Users can receive emails up
to 25 MB in size, including attachments, while they can send emails up to

Drive into the message.
