2. Introduction
Solar power is a form of energy harnessed from the power and heat
of the sun’s rays. It is renewable, and therefore a “green” source of
energy.
The most common way of harnessing energy from the sun is through
photovoltaic (PV) panels – those large, mirror-like panels you’ve likely
seen on rooftops, handheld solar devices, and even spacecrafts.
These panels operate as conductors, taking in the sun’s rays, heating
up, and creating energy (and electricity).
Just like wind power, solar power is a virtually unlimited and
inexhaustible resource (unlike power produced from expendable
fossil fuels). As technologies improve and the materials used in PV
panels become “greener,” the carbon footprint of solar power
becomes smaller and smaller.

3. Why did I choose Solar Panels?
• India is blessed with a huge potential for solar energy. On an average, India receives 200 MW/km
square of solar radiation per day. With almost 60 per cent of the population residing in the rural
region, the solar industry has a massive market to explore.
• Much of rural India still lacks a regular electricity supply. As a result, dependency on conventional
energy sources such as kerosene and coal are high in the rural region.
• Thus, the adoption of solar power in rural areas can not only reduce the use of fossil fuels but also
result in the generation of clean and cheap energy.
• There are many social and economic benefits linked to solar installations in rural areas.

• Price - The cost of solar energy is one of the major obstacles to its expansion, but today's financing options are extending the
reach of solar energy and making it accessible to consumers. We will set our product's price appropriately and ensure that clients
get value for their money.
• Product - The number of solar cells varies depending on the demand and the clients. Thin-film and crystalline solar cells are
primarily employed. To help the client understand what they are purchasing, specific details on the panels, transformers, inverters,
batteries, and essential construction equipment will be provided in the proposal. Customers consider the reliability and quality of
solar pv cells before making a purchase.
• Place - Solar programmes play a significant role in the channels via which solar is sold by collaborating with installers, developers,
and suppliers. To meet the growing demand, a robust supplier network is essential. India gets 200 MW/km2 of solar radiation on
average every day. The solar sector has a huge market to explore with about 60% of the population living in rural areas.
• Promotion - As government initiatives try to make solar installations more visible and boost the appeal of their solar incentive
programmes, promotion of solar energy will be our main focus. The market for solar power can be strengthened by employing
marketing and promotional tactics to positively position solar in the marketplace and by ensuring that the proper messages are
provided to the end user.

• Affordability - We will build a product that satisfies the needs of the user and is affordable by taking into account the affordability
of rural consumers and how they prefer budget-friendly products.
• Availability - Reaching the customer is the main difficulty in the rural market. Consumers in rural areas typically have modest
incomes and spend their money on daily essentials. Products may not always be readily available in rural markets, which leads
some customers to switch to substitutes or even abandon the intention of buying the original product. Therefore, we will make
sure that our items are specifically marketed to rural areas so that people may easily access them.
• Acceptability - For the advantage of rural clients, we will develop our products to be user-friendly. Even if clients have to spend
more money on the goods, it will be made in a way that they would see value in it. Customers should feel at ease utilising the
goods and should take the plunge without hesitation.
• Awareness - The goal of the customer awareness campaign should be to influence their thinking. To reach customers,
commercials on TV, radio, and billboards might be employed. We'll concentrate on the popular forms of entertainment and
communication in rural areas. By doing this, we will be able to connect with new clients, build important brand awareness, and
attract savvy people to what we have to offer.

6. Limitations of Solar
Panels
• Cost - The initial cost of purchasing a solar system is fairly high. This includes paying for solar panels,
inverter, batteries, wiring, and the installation.
• Weather-Dependent - Although solar energy can still be collected during cloudy and rainy days, the
efficiency of the solar system drops. Solar panels are dependent on sunlight to effectively gather solar
energy. Therefore, a few cloudy, rainy days can have a noticeable effect on the energy system.
• Uses a Lot of Space - The more electricity you want to produce, the more solar panels you will need, as you
want to collect as much sunlight as possible. Solar PV panels require a lot of space and some roofs are not
big enough to fit the number of solar panels that you would like to have.

7. Steps to overcome the
limitations:
• Cost - We will make sure that our product is budget friendly, along with that we will partner with government
initiatives to provide subsidies to the consumers.
• Weather-Dependent - As solar energy is totally dependent on sun rays, we will design our product in a way
that it captures the maximum amount of energy when under sun rays so that it can be stored and later used
for rainy seasons.
• Uses a Lot of Space - We will make sure that our panels occupy minimum space as possible.
