Introduction
 In class we have been discussing how who
  lived Presidios, Missions, Ranchos and
  Pueblos. we also discussed how culture and
  experience influence the way people view
  place and region.
 The field trip will give the students a hands
  on experience in how people lived in
  ranchos.

Materials and planning
Lunch and water bottle
Backpacks, cell phones, and cameras not
 allowed
Filed trip will be about two hr. and forty-five

Students should dress appropriate for weather
Payment is due at arrival($5 per
 child, teacher, or adult)
Activities
 Farm Implements
   “Discuss crops grown on
    the ranch …technology
    available, and irrigation
    systems.”
   Feed the animals
      Students will have an
       opportunity to meet and
       feed the animals.
Activities
• Tortillas and butter
   – students will make their
     own tortilla and butter.
     The tortillas will be
     cooked in a wood stove.
• Launder and Ice cream
• House and Museum
  Tour
Closing Activity
• For homework each student will right a short
  assay about their experience and how it
  influenced their perception of the ranch, and
  what they learned (about the land and how it
  was used).
• And have a class discussion.
