This document outlines the development of a virtual camera experience prototype. It begins with research showing consumers are more likely to purchase a product they can learn about and try virtually. The goal is to allow potential buyers to know, try, and compare cameras visually and experientially based on survey results. The challenge is shifting understanding of cameras from physical tools to 2D interfaces. The idea is to combine textual and visual elements to create a virtual DSLR experience allowing users to explore overview, features, specifications, appearance and performance. Storyboards, wireframes and initial renders are included outlining the prototype experience. Evaluation with users revealed issues that were addressed in refinements, resulting in a more navigable final prototype.
