This document describes research on developing a virtual trial room for clothing showrooms using augmented reality. It discusses how virtual trial rooms can streamline the shopping process by allowing customers to virtually try on different clothes and accessories without needing to use a physical changing room. The proposed system uses computer vision techniques like OpenCV, RGB normalization, and Haar cascade classifiers to detect a user's face in real-time video and overlay virtual clothing items onto the user's body. Evaluation of the system showed it was able to accurately display selected products and allow virtual trying on of different clothes and accessories. The technology has applications for both customers trying items as well as fashion designers prototyping new designs.
