Local councillors play a crucial role in representing their communities and making important decisions that impact the lives of residents. They serve as a link between the local government and the people they represent, ensuring that the needs and concerns of their constituents are heard and addressed.
Webinar: Stabilizing Communities: Advancing Housing Justice Organizing and Po...Neighborhood Funders Group
http://www.nfg.org/stabilizing_communities_webinar_recap
Across the country, resident-led institutions and their allies continue to build organizing strategies that address housing, displacement, and gentrification at the local, regional, and state level. Strategies and solutions to gentrification and displacement like rent control measures, passing local ballot initiatives for renter protections, developing community land trusts, and financing affordable housing has had some success, but the demographics of many communities are still rapidly changing.
At the center of these shifts, philanthropy continues to play a critical role investing in expanding the power of low-income communities to build local decision-making. How will federal level changes exacerbate challenges at the city-level? How are community groups connecting to other local challenges? What are some of the strategies emerging in 2017 that teams are working on to address the housing crisis?

Local political leaders have been crucial in efforts to move communities toward a solutions-focused homelessness system. In doing so, they have convinced other local opinion leaders to make ending homelessness a top priority. Speakers will facilitate a robust discussion around why it’s important to get political leaders involved in the fight to end homelessness locally, how to do so, and the benefits for the community.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

FINAL PERFORMANCE TASK
1. The target beneficiaries are always the taxpayers who will
fund and create a voice for the majority of people that
have a right to choose the safety of their own family and
community. Mostly the community partners are the
officials of government and other private individuals who
were willing to donate for the solution of a better sewer
system. And if this voice is lucky it can be heard all over
the nation and make the national government fix the
sewer system of our nation.
To make this happen the barangay officials may
give our movement a go sign to put this in the
municipality and may have approval.
Donations from the public people may be a
starting point for a plan, and create a draft for a
solution that can be a grandeur bill for our
barangay.
More public opinion and more freedom of
speech to state the ongoing conundrum to
value the right solution.
Great Sewer for Great Nation
Our community has a sewer problem which can cause a pouring of flood all over
the road. It causes a great pile of trash when the rain stops and can cause
multiple diseases that can obtain through the flood and wastewater that leaks all
over the sidewalk area. It can produce more harm and provide an enormous
problem that may be accidental but, it can prevent truly.
Civil Society Involvement:
The SK movement of the barangay can be a
youth face of the enactment that will happen, the
enactment and plan can be a youth movement to
create greater excitement throughout the
barangay and can pull other barangays to act and
advocate the same problems that have a great
outcome.
