SHORT SUMMARY OF SCENES
ACT 1:
The short film will start with shots of the scene, a quiet, isolated but captivating lake, with a lot of mysterybehind it. George is lying ‘dead’ on the ground, cuts and bruising over his face. His fingers or eyes
mayflicker or move, revealing perhaps something secretive to the audience, which then follows up with a blank screen or a quick switch to the upcoming scenes.
ACT 2:
Thenextcoupleofscenesis what happensto George,themaincharacterandwhatstandsin his way. It willincludeanewsbulletinwiththe wife of George,with a televisionthat is displayingthe scene of the
crimewithaninterview, from a Policeman,whereforensicsaresearchingforevidenceofperhapsa murderordrowningthat hasbeen committed within the lake. It will then lead onto the main scenes within
the film, explaining what happened with dramatic and nerve-wracking scenes of the fisherman, the build-up of the pleasant quiet afternoon, until everything goes wrong.
ACT 3:
Act 3 is in particularthemostintriguingandthoughtprovoking. Thisisbecausethesearethe scenesthat tie the wholeplot together,concludesthecrisisandthereforemakes the audience reflect, deliberate
andreason whathas happenedandwhythis has occurred.Thelastscenefor ‘Enigma’, shows the news bulletin on the television. The wife will turn to George and say“Isn’t that where you went?”, to which
he turns his headandshuffles a little, moves his fingerstowards hisneck,wherethe cutin the beginningsceneof him lying ‘dead’ on the ground has now been exposed to the discussion that he was either
alive, a clone, or is the whole film and George’s life in a loop? The audience’s imagination decides.
GEORGE, ‘THE MAN’
My film will predominantly include an adult male, with
dark/grey hair and a slight beard. The clothes this main
character will wear is a fisherman’s outfit, therefore beige,
waterproof type clothes with a hat and all of the equipment
needed to fish. (Such as fishing rod, hook, camping chair etc).
Throughout the film this character will be quite mysterious.
POLICEMAN
The policeman I will include in a couple of scenes within the short film, he will be an adult male in
police uniform, for the scenes where the TV shows the interview at the scene of the crime.
THE WIFE OF GEORGE
This character will only be shown extremely briefly, and won’t necessarily even be seen, just heard.
For example, in one ofthe key lastscenes, she will be sat with George, asking him a question whilst
watching the news.

TARGET AUDIENCE AND SAMPLE MOOD BOARD PICTURES
My target audience is for late teenagers/young adults – adults. In my opinion, Ifeel as if younger children would find some scenes, such as the crime scene and
some blood scenes or action scenes ofwhat happens to the main character too upsetting or too complicated to understand. Therefore, Ihave decided the target
audience for my film would be for older viewers as they would be able to follow the psychological side of my thriller and as a result appreciate the plot twists etc
more.
Late teenagers/young adults – adults will be extremely interested in this short film as they will be reached by action scenes, leading into a plot that will make
them think and intrigue them into what happens next.
I feel as if this short film will be predominantly more interesting to the male audience, as the main character is more relatable and includes the activity of fishing
is stereotypically targeted more towards this gender.
On the NRS Scale, I would put my target audience into the social grade category of C2-B which is a skilled working class to middle class. This is because
they’re either semi-professional or professional, therefore Ifeel as if they would enjoy watching something that could get their minds working after a long day at
work/ as a side hobby or thought between work shifts.
The film fits into a target audience category on the 4cs Scale extremely well. The film fits into ‘The Reformer’ or ‘The Explorer’ category. This is because ‘The
Reformers’ are often seen as intellectual and therefore will be able to appreciate the complicated psychological plot, and ‘The Explorers’ as they have a need for
discovery and challenge, therefore would love to find out what happens within the plot and will analyse the film fully.
