This document provides an analysis of Hollywood films being influenced by Plato's theory of mimesis. It discusses Plato's view that art is an imitation of reality. As an example, it describes how the locations in The Lord of the Rings trilogy were made to visually resemble real places in New Zealand. It then examines the different types of mimesis and provides analyses of several popular films, including The Village, The Lego Movie, Interstellar, the Harry Potter series, and The Matrix, to demonstrate Hollywood's application of Plato's concept of mimesis.
