Pagdalumat sa Pagpaplanong Pangwika ng Pamantasang Normal ng CebuAJHSSR Journal
: Language planning in an institution is a behicle to achieve the effective usage of the medium of
instruction. This study assessed the language policyand the role of Filipino and English as medium instruction of
Cebu Normal University. It assessed the following objectives: the knowledge of the teachers, administrators,
stakeholders and students; how ready they are to do the language planning; status of the medium of instruction;
and status of the implementation of the language policy. The study anchored the theory of language planning by
Baldauf (2006) at Kaplan at Baldauf (2006) and used qualitative method and purposive random sampling to
choose the respondents. Basedon the data gathered, the findings of the study shows that the teachers,
administrators, stakeholders and students have the knowledge that there is no existence of language policy in the
institution and aware of its importance. Furher, since theres no language policy, the respondents disagree that
the medium of instruction is used as prescribe and language policy in the institution is well implemented.
Therefore, the respondents are aware that there is no language policy in the institution and believe its
significance. It recommends that conduct an orientation regarding language planning in school, encourage the
Center of Wikang Filipino to initiate the planning and implement the language policy.

5. ANO ANG KULTURA?
Bawat pangkat ng mga taong naninirahansa isang bansa,bayan,pook o pamayananay may sarilingkultura.
Ang kultura,sa payak na kahulugan,ay ang sining,literatura,paniniwala,at kaugalian ng isangpangkat ng mga taong
nananahanan sa isang pamayanan.(Santiago,1959)
Ang kultura ay ang pangkabuuangpananawng mga tao sa isang lipunan sa mundo at sa kanilangkapaligiran.
Ang pananaw na ito ay hango sa paniniwala,tradisyon,uri ng pamumuhay,at iba pang mga bagay na nag-ugnaysa kanila
at nagpatibay sa bigkis ng pagkakaisa na siyangnagpapalaganapng kanilangpangkalahatangdiwa,pananaw,kaugalian
at adhikain.(Rubrico,2009)
Binubuong materyalna kultura ang mga bagay na nakikita at nahahawakangpisikal.Nabibilangdito ang mga
kasangkapan,kasuotan,kagamitan,bahayat pagkain.Samantala,ang mgakaugalian,tradisyon,panitikan,musika,sayaw,
paniniwala at relihiyon,pamahalaanat hanap-buhay ay sumasaklawsa Di- materyal na kultura.(Delmirin,2012)
