SCHEDULE--Drafting Phase
First Draft:
You write a first draft identifying one rhetorical devices or one figure of speech in one of the six given texts and develop it as the thesis or focus of your literary analysis. Then you evaluate the draft through peer review and by the Writing Center to ensure that you successfully achieve a close critical reading and write persuasively about the literary text. This is highly recommended. The student will print 1 copy for peer review. First draft is due on Wed, 03/18/15.
Second draft:
You produce a second draft reflecting changes in the first draft from peer review and instructor review. You bring one (1) copy of the second draft to class for peer edit. Second draft is due on Wed, 03/25/15.
Final Drafting Phase
You produce a final draft reflecting editing changes from the second draft. No outside materials or sources are used to write this paper. You turn in the first draft from peer review and the second draft from peer edit plus any drafts from a writing tutor in class or to the instructor’s mailbox in A 310 by 3:00 pm on the final draft due date. You submit the final draft to Insite for a grade. Final draft posted on Insite by 11:30 pm with first and second drafts due to the instructor on Wed, 04/01/15!!!!
FORMAT
You critically read and analyze the given text without consulting outside sources. The paper should be written in MLA page format in a legible 12 point font text. Produce approximately 4-5 typed pages. I do not assess the paper or assign it a grade if it is not submitted to Insite.

Now it's time to begin (two) major writing assignments: 1) the Focused Annotated Bibliography and 2) the Research Paper assignments. The Focused Annotated Bibliography is the research for the final research paper; therefore, you need to provide a "focus," a purpose statement that will become your thesis for the paper. Make sure you use correct MLA style for both papers. You write a first draft identifying one rhetorical devices or one figure of speech in one of the six given texts and develop it as the thesis or focus of your literary analysis. Then you evaluate the draft through peer review and by the Writing Center to ensure that you successfully achieve a close critical reading and write persuasively about the literary text. This is highly recommended. The student will print 1 copy for peer review. First draft is due on Wed, 03/18/15.
Second draft:
You produce a second draft reflecting changes in the first draft from peer review and instructor review. You bring one (1) copy of the second draft to class for peer edit. Second draft is due on Wed, 03/25/15.
Final Drafting Phase

Each student in HAS 5125 course will be asked to write a polished original research paper. STEPS TOWARDS YOUR PROPOSAL:
• Articles: You should read peer reviewed academic articles and answer the following questions for each
article.
o What is the author’s main purpose?
o What is the points s/he makes (related to your topic)?
o How the points are supported (what kind of evidence is used)?
o Whether the evidence seems strong and persuasive?
o The conclusions that are reached (related to your topic)
• Outline: You should use the notes on the articles and develop a detailed outline of all aspects of the final
research proposal.
• Rough Draft: Expand the outline by including details of what you intend to include in the final proposal.
Write your rough draft in the same manner you would in your final proposal. Remember your draft will help
you to figure out the quality of your proposal. Feel free to use a peer reviewer for feedback.
• Write your Final Proposal
o Title: You should include a relevant and interesting title to your research topic.
o Introduction: Write an introduction that engages the reader and includes important background
information.

Each student in HAS 5125 course will be asked to write a polished original research paper. The research paper will increase the student’s critical perspectives, awareness, and knowledge in a course subject area. Each paper will focus on a specific and narrowly defined topic. The topic could be formulation, implementation, or/and modification phases of any health policy making at federal or state level. Students choose the focus of their papers based on their professional and academic interests within the course’s context. All topics must be approved before writing. What Dada can do that realism cannot is make humorous, chaotic assemblage of events. The value of a movement that breaks all the rules is a non-traditional valued movement. The Dada anti-art movement had a strong negative and destructive element. Dada writers and artists were concerned with shock, protest, and nonsense. Dada contributed to assemblage, collage, photomontage and the use of ready-made objects. The inclusion of sound in art, the incorporation of found objects in a work of art, and the concept of improvising as a performance options were all substantially important to not only the development of music, but more specifically the development of electronic music.

The art of film is very dynamic. Dada was a great way to show how it was used. I know watching the film showed so many scenes and object so, it made it very helpful to understand the meaning of Dada.

Dada is hilarious to watch. The artist is able to show realism by having creative scenes that was part of the anti-war movement era. The objective of using a technique called collage was used by combining different type of scraps that was part of illustration to be viewed in different scenes. Dada contributes to the art of film by having music being played while watching the film. Also, surrealism was introduced to show a type of chaotic way of using humorous scenes in film.

Very well written. For some reason I read and read the article on Dada in the book and couldn't quite get it. So I read a few articles from the Internet to fully understand what the Dada movement was. Even with breaking all the rules they were able to contribute to the art.

Overview
WW is a regional transportation and distribution company in operation for over 60 years. The company serves major cities in the Mid-Atlantic region. They are headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware and have a staff of 400 employees including truck drivers. There are 6 distribution terminals (Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, New York City, Washington DC, Newark NJ and Wilmington DE) for consolidating freight, and 100 delivery vehicles including 20 tractor/semi-trailer units, 40 box trucks and 40 panel vans.
The company operates in a highly competitive business environment. Growth has been stagnant because of a slow economy. John, the president of the company, would like to see growth at 5% per year. He would also like to see expenses cut by 5% to help fund new initiatives. Current revenue is about $39 million a year with profit running at 4%.
Current Business Operations
WW operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sales personnel (12 people, two per terminal) visit prospective customers to outline company capability, services provided and costs. When a customer decides to use WW they call the dispatch office with shipment information. Usually they FAX a copy of the bill (s) of lading to a terminal with information such as origin, destination, product description, weight and number of packages.
A dispatcher at a terminal makes a list of freight pickups and sends a truck to get the freight. To do this they use the routing system to determine the sequence of pickups by zip code. They use local maps within a zip code to map out the specific order of pickups since there may be several in a zip code area. They have a performance goal of 98% of freight picked up within 24 hours of availability.
A driver follows the dispatch order for pickups. Many of the drivers complain that the pickup order is not efficient. When they pick up an order they sign for receipt and either load the freight or guide the customer’s forklift operators to arrange it properly in the truck.
After freight is picked up it is brought to the terminal where it is unloaded and sorted by destination. A dispatcher then prepares a delivery ticket (again using the routing system) that is used to load a truck in the proper sequence for delivery. Some trucks take freight from one terminal to another while others make local deliveries. About half of a terminal’s space is used on any given night. Dispatchers have a goal to turn freight around.
