Brief Introduction of the Project: International Funds for African Development (IFAD) is engaged in food security through production in the rural community

1. Monitor the newly recruited lead farmers in their
field preparation.
Newly lead farmers to be
able to maintain and
understand the filed
preparation. Also for their
field to be accurately
prepared to ensure better
and improve yield with
the help of MOA DAO’s
and FUND DEO’s
monitoring them
effectively.
Some newly recruited
lead farmers have already
understood the fieldi
preparation with the help
of MOA DAO’s and FUN
DEO’s monitoring most
of them are nearly
completion of their field
preparation.
The major challenges for
the newly recruited lead
farmers are:
a. Tools
b. Delay of seeds
c. Inputs,etc.
The old lead farmers were
also monitored and most
of them are planting
peanuts,corn, etc, instead
of cassava previously
planted.
2. Monitor the activities of FUN in fulfillment of the
ASRP/IFAD project.
FUN DEO’s should work
along with MOA DAO’s
to ensure that the
guideline of the
ASRP/IFAD project is
fully implemented.
FUN DEO’s are working
co-operatively with MOA
DAO’s in helping the
farmers to follow the
guideline of the
ASRP/IFAD project
implementation.
The challenges are: some
of the FUN DEO’s motor
bikes are down and the
MOA DAO’s do not have
fuel at all to accurately
visit the filed. Also our
motor bikes have some
mechanical problems.
I am appealing to
ASRP/IFAD project
administrators to help the
DAO’s to repair our
motorbikes in order for us
to double our efforts for a
successfulresult.
3. Resurvey of demo-sites of newly recruited lead
farmers in district #17
Resurvey of demo-site of
newly recruited lead
farmers to be completed
and demo-site establish.
Some newly recruited
lead farmers farms
resurvey are completed
and demo site nearing
completed.
The establishment of a
centralize demo-site
because of the heavy rain
and the bad road
condition in getting to the
farmer on a regular visit.
4. Follow-up on lead farmers marketing and value
additions activities of crops harvested.
Lead farmers marketing
and value addition
activities of crop
harvested should benefit
them to reduce poverty
and increase their food
production.
Some level (of poverty)
reduction was made and
increase food production
took placed. The
produced farina, fufu,
starch, etc. out of the
cassava.
The challenges were
transportation to carry
their produce to the
market and farm to
market road are bad due
to the heavy down pull of
rain.
4. Planned Activities for the following Month (July 2015)
No. Planned Activities Expected output Time frame
1. Monitor the completion of total preparation (layout) of newly recruited
and old lead farmers.
That all lead farmers should
complete the preparation and layout
of their farm.
01/07/15-10/07/15
2. Marking sure that each lead farmers farm size reach the required that
requested by the project after the resurvey.
That all lead farmers complete the
required that requested by the
ASRP/IFAD project.
11/07/15-20/07/15
3. Making sure that all lead farmers and follow-up farmers complete
planting of their farms in spite of the heavy rain fall.
By the time frame measured all lead
farmers would have completed
planting their farms.
20/07/15-25/07/15
4. Constant monitoring of lead farmers and FUN DEO’s to establish the
fact of good working relationship between them for the successful
implementation of the project.

have better working relationship for
the successfulimplementation of the
