Netflix Audit Analysis Paper
This paper reviews the required elements of the audit analysis of Netflix prepared by Nicole Thom.
Thom has clearly provided an introduction describing Netflix s products and markets, including its
competitors. The history of the company and its industry are also clear and complete. I think we
can also mention that Netflix, Inc. is the world s leading Internet televisionnetwork with over 75
million streaming members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV
shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films. Netflix s core
strategy is to grow streaming membership business globally within the parameters of its

In addition, when comparing to the industry average, the firm s growth rate is much lower
(www.thestreet.com).
Other Ratios
There are no other ratios computed or commented upon or additional items besides the three ratios
afore mentioned. Additional items that I could add are the risk factors faced by Netflix.
Business Risks In the annual 10 K report, Netflix mentions many business risks, but I chose to only
state the following three:
If Netflix s efforts to attract and retain members are not successful, the business will be adversely
affected;
Changes in how we market our service could adversely affect our marketing expenses and
membership levels may be adversely affected;
Any significant disruption in or unauthorized access to its computer systems or those of third
parties that Netflix utilize in its operations, including those relating to cybersecurity or arising from
cyber attacks, could result in a loss or degradation of service, unauthorized disclosure of data,
including member and corporate information, or theft of intellectual property, including digital
content assets, which could adversely impact the

Elevated Blood Pressure
Blood pressure readings are noted in two separate areas, the systolic and diastole. The systole
(top number) is the pressure within the arteries when the heart is contracting and pushing the
blood forward. When a blood pressure is above the normal range this is notation that the heart is
having to work harder to pump the blood properly within the system. The diastole (bottom
number) is the pressure within the arteries when the heart is relaxed. A normal blood pressure
reading is 120/80, 139/89 is pre hypertensive and 140/90 and higher is labeled as hypertensive.
Elevated blood pressures can be divided into two separate categories, this is primary and secondary
hypertension(HTN) (Egan Zhao, 2013). Primary Hypertension, also known as essential
hypertension is a type of elevated blood pressure in which there is no identifiable cause. It is noted
to be a complex interplay, including;... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

headaches, vision problems, fatigue, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, blood in urine, and /or

accompanied with the following signs may be evidence of secondary hypertension (Egan, 2015).
Such as:
Elevated blood pressure (resistant hypertension) that does not respond to medications.
Uncontrolled elevated blood pressure with medications in which at one were beneficial by keeping
the blood pressured within normal limits.
Extremely persistent elevated blood pressures; systolic over 180 mmHg and/or a diastole over 120

Taking a Look at Organic Farming
In recent years, there has been a huge conversion by farmers from conventional to organic
farming due to the increased demand by consumers for products that are produced with fewer
synthetic chemicals and hormones. The Center for American Progress estimated an increase of
approximately 17 billion dollars from 23 billion dollars in 2002 to 40 billion dollars in 2006
(Center for Progress, 2008). As opposed to conventional farming, which uses chemical fertilizers,
pesticide sprays, and herbicides, organic farmingrequires that farmers comply with the regulations
and standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA) such as requiring the
crops be produced and handled without synthetic, prohibited non synthetic, and non agricultural
substances and ingredients as well as unapproved vaccines, ionizing radiation, and sewage sludge
(USDA Code of Federal Regulations). Table 1 includes a list of what practices are permitted in
conventional and organic farming as stipulated by the USDA.
The objective of this analysis is to firstly look at the sustainability, which is defined in this report
using the Environmental Protection Agency s definition which is the creation and maintenance of
conditions under which human and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling
the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations (EPA), of the
production and cultivation or crops under organic practices, excluding the handling of livestock,

Comparison of Leadership Styles for Cadbury and Kraft
The pre hostile acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft Foods
Compare and contrast the preferred styles of Irene Rosenfeld and Todd Stitzer in the context of the
pre hostile acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft Foods. You should apply appropriate management and
leadership theories to support your arguments.
Consider first Irene Rosenfeld s leadership Style.
By referring to Hersey s model of situational leadership model adapted by JE Chamberlain from
Mullins (2007:302) and Hersey et al (2000) followed on from a number of previous writes to

Cloud Computing Research Paper
Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is revolutionizing the use
software globally at a very rapid pace as it is completely redefining the economics of how
software is purchased and used. Web 2.0 technologies and their underlying design precepts are
responsible for the current and future generations of social networks (Bernoff, Li, 2008). Both
have immediate and significant impacts on the operations of businesses and the major
contributions each makes are explained in this analysis. Analysis of the Business Uses of the
Cloud and Web 2.0 Technologies Cloud computing has drastically reordered the economics of
how every size and type of business uses software. For the large enterprise there is no longer the
need to go through an extensive capital expense (CAPEX) budgeting process, often involving the
board of directors of a business (Aljabre, 2012). Cloud computing software is often pad for
through operating expense (OPEX) budgets, which shifts the control of its budgeting to the line of
business managers or those managers and executives responsible for a given business unit. This
dynamic alone has completely reordered the enterprise software market, as cloud based
applications can often be modified significantly faster than on premise applications (Lin, Chen,
2012). As a result of this flexibility, enterprises, medium size and small businesses are all relying
on cloud based applications to automate those process areas that had been expensive and

The Importance Of Real Property
Statutory deferral when real property is transferred to a corporation with FMV higher than the tax
basis.
The law provides three exceptions where the transfer of Real property to a corporation with market
value higher than the basis is not taxable; 1. The transferor owns more than 80% of voting stock of
the corporation immediately after the transfer 2. The transferor and a group, simultaneously
transfer real property to a corporation and own more than 80% of the corporate voting stock
immediately after the transfer. 3. The transferor already owns 80% voting stock of the corporation
and any additional transfers do not trigger gain. The above transfers only deferred the gain but did
not exempt it, pursuant to В§ 351. Corporation takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
IRC В§ 721, which dictates transfer of property to partnership, is comparable to В§351 except it
does not have an 80% or more ownership constraint, you could own 1% of partnership interest the
transfer would still be tax free. In addition, basis rules are like corporate rules upon transfer. The
similarity ends from this point forward, in cases where property is subject to liability, the partner
would adjust its basis in the partnership. Gain, if triggered due to partner s liability decrease,
termed deemed distribution, recognition of this gain could be circumvented by adjusting the
transferor s outside basis, hence no recognition of gain either by the partnership or the partner. In
case of liquidating or non liquidating distribution interplay of sections in partnership law avoids the
recognition of gain, and in both cases basis is adjusted instead. Gain is only triggered when the
transferor sells property received in both liquidating and non liquidating scenarios.

Theme Of Boo Radley s Shoes In To Kill A Mockingbird
Have you ever wished to help someone but you can t? You can t help them because you don t
understand what they are going through. You need to be in their shoes to understand. In To Kill
A Mockingbird, Scout Finch is narrating her childhood from herself as an adult. Her father is
involved in a big trial, as he is defending an African American during the 1930s. Harper Lee
shows the theme of you never really know a man until you stand in their shoes through the
characters Boo Radley, Tom Robinson, and Bob Ewell. The first way Harper Lee shows this theme
is through the character of Boo Radley. Scout is talking about the Radley family, and says, The
doors of the Radley house were closed on weekdays as well as Sundays, and Mr. Radley s boy was

Tom Robinson is giving his side of the story during the trial. He says, She d call me in, suh.
Seemed like every time I passed by yonder she d have some little somethin for me to do choppin

night of November 21. He is saying that Mayella called him to help with her chores. He said that
every time he passes her house she always asks him for help with her chores. This proves the
theme because we don t know why Tom decides to help Mayella out. If we were in his shoes we
would understand why he decides to help Mayella out. This theme is also shown when Atticus is
telling Aunt Alexandra what happened. Atticus states, He was running. It was during their
exercise period. They said he just broke into a blind raving charge at the fence and started
climbing over (Lee 235). Atticus is sad because of the news that Tom Robinson has died. He
doesn t understand why Tom decided to climb the fence. If Atticus were in Tom s shoes he might
understand Tom s motive for climbing the fence. He would understand that Tom wants to escape
but he is innocent. If Atticus was in Tom s shoes he might understand why Tom decided to climb
over the fence. Atticus would understand the way Tom was feeling when he decided to climb over
the fence. He would also be able to understand why Tom feels the need to help Mayella with her
chores.

The Benefits Of Transcendental Meditation
My initial impression of TM was great. As I am always looking for ways to expand my
consciousness and become enlightened I was very interested. The instructor had very positive
things to say, and appeared to be very enthusiastic about the practice. After seeing all of the celebrity
endorsements for the practice, I initially figured that there must be something worth while behind
this form of meditation.
Overall, I would say that my perspective on TM has changed. Had I not needed to go do
homework, I probably would have signed up for instruction the same day. However, the more fact
checking and researching that I did, the less interested and more skeptical I became. Reading the
statistics about adverse effects of the practice and biased test ... Show more content on

Relationship Between Female And Female
Leading all the way from the seventeenth to nineteenth century, essentialism and determinism lead
to assumptions made by society, in which many of these assumptions are the gender roles women
have taken on, contracting those male take and stay away from due to reasoning behind human
nature. Outside the law courts, in genderrelations, assumptions are often held as if there were an
essentialist nature distinguishing men and women and that they have separate needs based on their
biology (30). Meaning any distinguishes made between maleand femaleare all treated as part of
nature and they are different in multiple aspects in society and how they act due to their
differentiated biological makeup. It is a reductionist way of thinking and explaining that females
are meant to greatly differ from males because that is just how nature has set it up and will
always be. Society has reasoned social roles behind biological roles and tried to play off the
essentialism behind it by disguising it and justifying it as just part of simple nature. Something that
cannot be changed, in which it has demonstrated a deterministic way of living. Males and females
were meant to be different from one another, to take on roles that fir to them as society has defines
so. Ultimately females must act according to their biological and social schema or they are
considered to be breaking from the essential manner nature has established. In Kaplan s and Rogers

Heritage parks aim is to expand the business and their objectives are to fill up all their business
and room spaces, increase the awareness of the existence of the hotel and to increase the
wedding trade as well as other special occasions. The achievement of these aims and objectives
may be supported by the online presence because tourists and companies on business trips may be
looking for a hotel in the area that specialises in various activities. Since the hotel has a wide range
of amenities they can cover the majority of their customers interests and for business meetings the
hotel has rooms especially designed for the purpose.
The online presence of the hotel means that the customers can actually see pictures of the hotel,
leisure centre, bedrooms, restaurant and business rooms giving the customer an idea from where
they are sat rather than having to visit the hotel first. Online booking is effective as it is a much
quicker way of bringing money into the business. Customer feedback and guest books will give
new customers a brief view on what previous customers have thought of the hotel and whether it is
a good hotel or not.

Comparative Analysis Of The School Days Of An Indian Girl
Comparative Analysis When reading The School Days of an Indian Girl by Zitkala sa, it shows
us a view of ethnic identity. By telling us how a little girl is in a home, away from her mother,
while learning how to adapt to the new culture she s in. In Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, it
shows us a different view of a man in another form of an ethnic identity. It shows us that the man
is seen as a different person then who he really is, instead of a black man who isn t seen as what
he actually is. In Why I am A Pagan by Zitkala sa, it used cultural identity by focusing on how the

how the ten specific clauses from the constitution are interpreted and viewed by his perspective
while creating our own interpretation and overall view of the clauses. Although I found the book
great, the interpretation of the metaphor of the zoo animals were a bit confusing, however the
author was very creative and brilliant. I wish he opened up to a more specific audience as well,
because sometimes his humor could only be understood by other officials of the government rather
than a teenager s point of view and opinion based off of the novel. So there were many

The History And Political Causes Of The Cold War
The Cold War refers to an era of U.S. history from roughly 1945 to 1990. Although the U.S.S.R.
and the U.S. fought ideological proxy wars in Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan, this era is referred
to as the Cold War because the United States and Soviet Union never actually engaged in war
themselves. The origins of the Cold Warcan be traced back to the finale of World War II. Beginning
with the Yalta Conference, the Allied powers of the Soviet Union, United States, and Great Britain
started a discussion concerning post war foreign policies. Specifically, the political system of
Poland became an important question for the Big Three . Should Poland be allowed to form a
democratically elected government, or should Russia be allowed to occupy Poland and further
expand their communist influence? Essentially, this question and many like it characterized the
motivation for the Cold War. The United States sought to contain communism while the Soviet
Union pushed for both land expansion and political influence across the globe. (CITE) Harry
Truman took the office of President just a few months before the end of World War II. Truman
inherited a plethora of dilemmas heading into the post War World II era, and he decided to take his
stance on international affairs in 1947 with the Truman Doctrine. Essentially, the Truman Doctrine
promised that America would personally intervene in order to insure that democracy would remain
secure in foreign governments. This was a stark contrast from the popular isolationist paradigm of
the 20s and 30s. Furthermore, the Truman Doctrine prompted an unusual act of international
involvement when Congress agreed to aid Greek and Turkish militaries in an effort to counter
communist influence in these regions. Additionally, Truman s handling of the Korean War is
another example of his firm stance of containment. Truman made no qualms about aiding the
indigenous troops of South Korea with weapons and troops, but he did openly reject the notion of
meeting either China or the Soviet Union in an open land battle. Furthermore, Truman fired
General Douglas MacArthur based on the general s strong notion to invade China and reluctance to
respect the President s authority. Truman s decisions

Analysis Of John Paul Lederach s The Moral Imagination
John Paul Lederach s The Moral Imagination: The Art and Soul of Building Peace goes could
only have been written by someone who had spent many years in the field of conflict
management. With its underlying focus of the essence of peacebuilding, it looks far beyond what
one may learn in any textbook or seminar. While the first 8 chapters of the text are ripe with areas
for further analysis, here I will focus only on theme, found in one chapter, in the interest of brevity.
In chapter 2 of The Moral Imagination we are introduced to real life micro case studies. The cases
aim to help the reader understand how people experiencing violent conflictthroughout the world
have worked to transcend the cycles of violence that bewitch our community, building on Lederach
s statement on why the book was written. That being said, we can see that Lederach is operating
under the assumption that current day peacebuilding and conflict management is not working as
well as it should. It is clear that he thinks there is something more that needs to be involved in
current strategies and models. He believes we must move from looking at actors in a conflict as
separate involved parties and instead view parties as a web of relationships which include our
enemies. This requires a shift in thinking for those in thefield of peacebuilding and for those
involved in the conflict, but in making this shift, we can look at conflicts as existing within our
communities rather than between our

Emotional Intelligence And Psychological Depth
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING IN
ADOLESCENTS The general concept of emotional intelligence (EI) is partly rooted in
Thorndike s (1920) idea of social intelligence and Gardner s (1983) theory of multiple
intelligences (especially intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence). In the current context, EI
asa construct was discussed in a dissertation by Payne (1986), even though as a term it had
appeared in the literature much earlier (Leuner, 1966). Salovey and Mayer (1990) put forward a
theoretical model that viewed the construct as a subset of social intelligence and Goleman (1995)
provided a broad and highly influential account that has nonetheless attracted concerted criticism
for its unsubstantiated claims about the vital importance of EI in people s personal, social and
professional lives. The fact that the field still lacks a universally accepted operational definition
has contributed significantly to the emergence of inconsistent and sometimes, contradictory
findings that have often been discussed in the scientific literature (e.g. Davies, Stankov, Roberts,
1998; Epstein, 1998; Mathews, Zeidner, Roberts, 2002). Psychological well being has been
approached differently by different researchers and views it in different ways. One view sees it
according to the hedonic and eudaimonic approaches of early philosophers. Subjective well being
was first used by Ryan and Deci (2001) as combination of pleasure, displeasure, satisfaction and

Compare And Contrast Circe s Power And One Art
Being confident can sometimes get you through tough times but sometimes can make others
think you re conceited. Being resilient helps you to move on through tough times. Being direct

Aaron Burr s Disgrace in the Burr Conspiracy Essay
Aaron Burr had been Vice President during the п¬Ѓrst administration of Thomas Jefferson. In the
summer of 1804, Burr killed his rival Alexander Hamilton in a duel, an event that effectively ended
Burr s career in national politics. Three years later, he was on trial, charged with the capital crime
of treasonby the government headed by Jefferson, his former partner in political office. Presiding
over the trial was John Marshall, Chief Justice of the United States. Finally, there was James
Wilkinson, general of the army, once Burr s associate and at trial his chief accuser. With these
principal players, the trial in the U.S. Circuit Court at Richmond was as much high political and
personal drama as it was a judicial proceeding

He continued to sound out potential backers for his military expedition. In western Pennsylvania,
hoping to enlist the support of influential Colonel Morgan and his two sons, Burr made the fatal
mistake of expressing plans which his host found shocking. Morgan wrote a letter to President
Jefferson summarizing his conversation with Burr, setting in motion the effort that would
eventually put an end to Burr s dreams and lead to his arrest and trial. (Linder, 2001)
In November a militia detachment caught up with Burr on the west bank of the Mississippi. Burr
was handed a letter from the Governor of Mississippi demanding his surrender. He responded to
the letter by denouncing Wilkinson whose perfidious conduct had completely frustrated his
projects. The next day Burr met with the Governor who convinced him to surrender. A grand jury
in Washington declared Burr not guilty of any crime or misdemeanor against the United States.
The jury went on to condemn the arrest, suggesting that it had given cause to the enemies of our
glorious Constitution to rejoice. (Landen, 2001) Once additional information about Burr s
activities became known, a new warrant was issued for his arrest in mid February. Burr was taken
to Fort Stoddart for two weeks and then sent by a nine man military guard on a one thousand mile
horseback trip to Richmond, where he would stand trial for treason.

Sports-Related Concussions
More than 300,000 sports related concussions are reported each year in the United States, and
although the awareness of concussions and other head injuries is rising, concussions are still very
dangerous to young athletes. Some may say that after an athlete receives a concussion, they just
have to wait until the obvious, and most common symptoms like dizziness and nausea subside
before they can play again; with medication, and constant rest, this may only take 2 weeks,
however, depending on the severity of the injury, there could be some other underlying symptoms
that are even more dangerous than the obvious ones. After a having a concussion, student athletes

why those who suffer a severe head injury should wait a longer period of time to before going

Essay about British Romanticism
Even today, man finds himself asking, What is beautiful? Many would point to nature when
prompted with such a question; however, few realize that a similar question was posed and a
similar answer given back in Romantic Great Britain, but to a whole new degree. British
Romanticism was a reaction against technology as well as a cry to turn back to the beauty of
nature, and its advocating troops held no more than a pen and paper in hand (Lorcher). Authors of
the Romantic era used literature to open the eyes of a society bogged down by the chaos and
clutter of everyday life, and the ideas that they promoted still affect man to this very day. The
Romantic Movement spans approximately from 1783 to 1832 (Bernbaum). This was a time of...

a change from a mechanical conception of the world to an enthusiastic religion of nature, from
rational virtue to emotional sensibility, from ... egoism to humanitarian benevolence, from realism
to optimism, from acceptance of things as they are to faith in progress, from contentment with
urban civilization to sentimental primitivism. (Bush 43) Romantics protested strongly to the
contemporary evils of their time, such as poverty and warfare (Bernbaum xxvii). They believed that
such atrocities existed because there were still men in the world motivated by greed and pride. But
they did not let this knowledge force them into a state of despondency; instead, they looked forward
to the future, when such things might improve (Bernbaum). Romantics hoped that one day man s
imagination would awaken and life could be what it was meant to be: free, natural, beautiful, and
humane (Bernbaum xxvii). This desire for a natural life came from the Romantic s love and
admiration of nature. To him, nature was emotionally expressive and the only real source of peace
(Lorcher). Romantics discovered truth, virtue, and beauty not by routine examination, but by
moments of inspiration in which they could see something for what it truly was (Bernbaum). They
did not experience such inspiration by focusing on the exterior, the everyday affairs of mundane
life; instead, they focused on the interior (Bernbaum). This is why man s imagination

Health care staff governed to perform their professional duties based on the practice acts from the
professional licensing boards under the statutes of the states. The professional duties include the
balance between competency in skills, and application of ethics that will help promote the
provision of the quality of care to the public (Harris, 2008). However, there are ethical health care
issues that health care professionals encounter with their patients. One ethical health care issue is

The validity of the informed consent should consist of three factors. First, the patient is competent
to give an informed consent by verbalizing or acknowledging understanding of the nature of the
treatment plans. Second, the patient should give consent willfully without an undue influence or
threat from other individuals. Third, the patient should receive full disclosure, including the risks,
and benefits of the treatment plans from his or her physician (McInroy, 2005).
The ethical principles of beneficence, and nonmaleficence from a patient who is refusing blood
transfusion believed that refusal of this treatment would honor the benefits over harm. Based on
the values practiced among the Jehovah s Witness members, the harm resulting from receiving
the blood transfusion will cause a dismissal in achieving an eternal salvation. Nevertheless, the
harm resulting from refusing the blood transfusion will create less harm, which is the end of one
s mortal life on earth. The belief of the Jehovah s Witness members pertains to a rational decision,
which the eternal salvation preferred substantially compared with the additional years of
temporary life on earth (Macklin, 2003). The ethical principle of justice from a patient pertains to
a fair, and equal provision of respect regardless of the patient s cultural or religious beliefs.

The Cleveland Browns season has begun with one preseason game already in the books.
Although the Browns lost to the Washington Redskins 20 17, we learned quite a few things from
Thursday nights game. First off, Josh McCown was respectfully impressive even though he only
played one possession. He looked composed in the pocket, knowing where and when to throw
the ball. The veteran quarterback showed off his mobility, avoiding pressure to find Travis
Benjamin in the end zone for a touchdown. McCown completed a perfect five for five passes for
33 yards giving the Browns a 7 0 lead. Next up to make his preseason debut, Johnny Manziel,
who showed vas improvement. The former first round pick completed seven of his 11 pass
attempts for 42 yards. The quarterback remained in the game for five possessions with minor
mistakes. With just under a minute left before halftime, Manziel stared down one of his
receivers and the pass was batted down, but he is lucky isn t didn t result in a pick six.
Additionally, Johnny fumbled a snap in addition to taking just one sack. On a positive note,
Manziel looks to be gaining comfort in the pocket. He was responsible for three first downs and a
12 yard touchdown scramble. He was Cleveland s leading rusher with 14 yards on just two carries.

Cannibalism Is Not Illegal ( Eveleth )
The Other, Other, White Meat
We had to eat these dead bodies, and that was it , this is what Andes plane crash survivor, Roberto
Canessa, had to say on his experience with cannibalism. Cannibalism is the consumption of a
member of the same species. Consuming human flesh is not against the law in the United States,
therefore cannibalism is not illegal (Eveleth). In the eyes of the law, murdering someone to eat is
wrong, but the act of eating a human is not. To Americans the simple thought of eating another
human is sickening. To most that is true, but to others consuming human flesh is a way of life.
Some cultures practice cannibalism for their own spiritual beliefs and others have to eat human
flesh to survive. Human flesh has proteins most want when eating meat. The act of eating human
meat has gotten a bad reputation over the years, looking back in history, people thousands of
years ago have different views. Cannibalism is a way to survive, with the proteins necessary to
do so, and a way for cultures to express their beliefs. Cannibalism is a taboo topic most people do
not know enough about. People eat people for a variety of reasons, the most well known being
killers getting a thrill from eating their victims. Although not everyone who is a cannibal gets a
high from eating humans, Americans still see it as evil. Jeffrey Dahmer is the most well known
example of this, a man who gets a sexual desire from killing and eating his victims. Everyone

The Wife s Lament And The Seafarer Analysis
The
Similarities of The Wife s Lament and The Seafarer Life away from home can be hard, but
imagine what it would be like if it was to a harsh sea or under a giant tree. In the two poems we
will be dissecting, you will see how these two different situations have a lot in common. In one of
the oldest poems known in the world, The Seafarer was written long by an unknown author.
Throughout the poem we see how the man takes his exile emotionally and physically, all the while
he sails the sea and world. He goes to other countries and shows how on his missions he sees
amazing things, but he expresses how sad he is. In the second poem, The Wife s Lament, a woman
is exiled to a cave by her husband, and she goes through all her thoughts and emotions, and she
decides to get out her anger and heartbreak for her husband, she curses him while is out at sea.
While we go through both of these poems, we will find differences between exiles. In The
Seafarer, it isn t known whether the man was exiled, or if he willingly left his home.
Throughout the poem you can see the way that the man holds himself together, and how he feels
about the people on the land. This the man does not know for whom on land it turns out most
favourably, how i, wretched and sorrowful, on the ice cold sea... In this line, we can see that the
man is very angry about having to be out at sea. While he is out at sea, he talks about his family
back at home that later help us connect The SeaFarer to The Wife s Lament. You can see how
the mans actions and words were very Pagen at the beginning of the poem, but slowly transform
into Christian values and words change by the end of the poem. This leads many people to
believe that the original poem have been translated by high church member, because they were
the only ones back then that were educated enough to read and write. If it were translated by a
high ranking church member, it is possible that some of it might have been changed. As you
move onto the second poem, The Wife s Lament, we look at an exile, through a different person s
eyes. When the Wife is still on land, she is still exiled far away to a cave area under a great tree.
Although she was not on the seas, she still found

When describing an intellectual, the term Brainiac may be used. What is little known about this
term is its true origins. Brainiac was the super intelligent villain and enemy of Superman in the
Action Comics series. Brainiac was first introduced in 1938, and the term was first recorded in
print outside of the comics in 1982. Another more obvious example of DC Comics influence on

can provide the rider with a more interactive setting. Such as blinking dot when a vehicle is too
close and also when you might get cut off. The HUD can also display your current gear and

Luxury Goods Serve A Purpose
Introduction Luxury goods serve a purpose that extends way beyond functionality and need. A
bag that costs $15,000 or a pair of shoes priced at $500 does not necessarily signal that they
perform better than goods priced significantly lower. The disproportionate prices of luxury goods
reflect so much more than the eye can see, the history behind the brand, the story that it tells, and
the scarcity and exclusivity it aims to achieve in the mind of the consumer. A premium brand, by
contrast, can generally be described as a good that a customer pays more for because they are
getting higher quality product. Luxury brands are not inherently inferior because they do not offer
higher functionality. Sometime signaling the belonging to an exclusive group is important to a
person, and thus worth the monetary cost. A premium product, though, is a good that people are
willing to pay more because they believe they get more, whether that is higher quality or better
performance. A customer does not purchase a luxury product because they know it will perform
better, they purchase it because of the status and appearance that it signals to those around them.
The distinction between luxury and premium is significant because many brands are unsure of
where they want to position themselves. In order for a high end brand to be successful it needs to
position themselves as either providing some benefit that justifies the price, or as a fantasy that the
customer needs to pay for to be a part of.

As I had not been raised in a religious home, the construct seemed foreign to me. I failed to see its

Pi and the beasts, or the story of man and a struggle to survive (the cook, crewman, and mother).
While the latter seems more acceptable on its face, the former presents a beautiful story filled with
meaning. Through Martel s writing, I see religion less as an identification or a label, but rather as a
lens in which a follower views the world. Where I might see the ordinary, others may see the

The book also helped me consider flaws in human nature flaws that I often found in myself. This

Asked to describe what sort of life might spring up out of the stony rubbish (20) of the poem s
sterile landscape by an interlocutor who seems by the force of the allusion to Ezekiel to be a
representative of some sort of transcendent reality, there seems to be no way for the poet to
answer. The speaker continues in almost accusatory tone: You cannot say, or guess, for you
know only/ A heap of broken images (21 22), and it is in this line that Eliot questions the
potential for meaning inherent in language. The self is unable to explicate the nature of this life
for his only language is a mere heap a disordered pile of broken images . Here Eliot describes
language as representation, and in this mode it is doubly useless; first, because it is broken ,
fragmented and divorced from the very realities it was intended to describe, and second, because
it consists of mere images representations of things and not the things themselves. One might
argue that language, though only a heap of broken images, does achieve a certain reflexivity
here, for in that disordered pile of reflections lies a landscape where the sun beats,/ And the dead
tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief (22 23). But the space that language presents here is a
sterile, dead one, without evidence of the growth of either root or branch. Absent too are the
Starnbergersee, the shower of rain (9), and the verdant Hofgarten which

We mixed Mg and CuCl2 together and the magnesium began to change due to the reaction. We
mixed Zn and CuCl2 together and saw that the Zinc has began to change it s color due to its
reaction. We mixed Mg, Fe and Zn with Fe(NO3)3 and saw that they all had a reaction and began
to change. We later noticed that Copper hadn t reacted with any of the substances because it didn t
change it s color or form.
CONCLUSIONS:
My hypothesis for Mg + Zn(NO3)2 в†’ Zn + Mg(NO3)2 was incorrect because when we tested it
in the lab we got no reaction and in the equation I had gotten a reaction. For Fe + Fe(NO3)3 в†’
N.R., I got that there was going to be no reaction but there was when we tested it in the lab. Also,
for 2Zn + 2HCl в†’ H2 + 2ZnCl, I got that there was going to be a reaction but there ended up not
being one. The metals from least to most reactive are Mg, Zn, Fe, Cu. My lab results matched
exactly to what I predicted using the metal activity series. The activity series for halogens is

Brooke Army Medical Center Executive Summary
The U.S. Department of Defense has required Brooke Army Medical Center to seek reimbursement
for medical procedures conducted on third party insured civilian patients. The need for a
professional billing service to effectively acquire third party reimbursement for healthcare services
within Brooke Army Medical Center is essential to the financial success of the organization. The
hospital is operating in a demanding environment due to a highly regulated healthcare industry and
an uneven playing field compared with other local community hospitals. Nearly one third of the
nation s hospitals demonstrated operating losses in 2014 with Brooke Army Medical Center being
no exception. Additionally, uninsured patients are costing U.S. hospitals $900... Show more content

The Brooke Army Medical Center is a rising healthcare organization located in San Antonio,
Texas and is the largest in the area. It is nationally recognized as a Level I trauma and burn
center in addition to housing the center for the Intrepid. According to Brooke Army Medical
Center s vision statement, the healthcare organization s mission is to promote health and provide
quality, compassionate, patient centered care while developing healthcare professionals and
optimizing military readiness. Brooke Army Medical Center strives to be an advanced leader in
treatment options, advanced technology and clinical research (Selzer, et al., 2001). Brooke
Army Medical Center is also considered the largest inpatient medical facility in the Department
of Defense (U.S. Inspector General, 2014). The hospital provides inpatient care in a 2.1 million
square foot, 425 bed facility that received nearly 6,000 emergency room visits each month. The
Department of Defense continues to see a positive outlook for Brooke Army Medical Center and
all the services it offers as a healthcare organization despite its operational financial losses.
Although competition is apparent, Brooke Army Medical Center continues to strive at achieving
substantial healthcare services provided to veterans and the local community. Brooke Army
Medical Center has a budget of $13 billion annually and cares for more than 3.95 million
beneficiaries including active duty members of all services, retirees, and their family members
(Eastman, et al., 1994). A financial assessment conducted by Bishop Associates in 2004 suggested,
that although Brooke Army Medical Center is not profitable the regional medical support provided
by the facility is essential to the healthcare needs of South Texas. In a

Compare The Passionate Shepherd To His Love
Renaissance poet Marlowe, within The Passionate Shepherd to his Love, and the Restoration poet
Marvell, within To His Coy Mistress, present love as a necessity. Despite the differing contexts,
with their incompatible ethical and moral attitudes, they still concern themselves with the same
fundamental idea that men will assert their patriarchal dominance onto women in order to have sex.
By focussing on the tone of the two poems one can draw similarities within how the male
imperative and female reluctance mirrors the social context of time and religious morality.
Marlowe evokes this message through the utilisation of the hyperbolic use of the possessive
pronoun my in accordance with imperatives; Come live with me and be my love, / And we will all
the pleasures prove . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike Shakespeare, who wrote romance, Marlowe is attempting to create passion and the half
rhyme depicts this passion. At times, the person will not understand the desire and it will just
simply be there and come to fruition through chance. The line further allows for this female
subservience to the man with the possessive pronoun my depicting that she is the man s property
and the lack of identity to the woman throughout the poem reiterates this point of view that the
male has to assert his dominance through the manifestation of every materialistic aspect of life. The
utilisation of my love is paradoxical to the nature of

A Brief Note On Ultra Orthodox Jewish Culture Essay

According to Levine (2016), Ultra Orthodox Jewish culture contains varying sects, Hasidic
/Yeshivas is considered a Jewish religious sect which originated in the Ukraine and Lithuania as a
spiritual movement of Judaism which spread throughout Eastern Europe during the eighteenth
century. Hasidic Immigrants have settled in the United States, United Kingdom and Israel.
Disciples of its originator Ba al Shem Tov have since disseminated it into sects. The cultural
intersectionality in focus is current Hasidism, an Ultra Orthodox sect of Judaism which preserves its
religious conservatism and social isolation from mainstream society. (Levine, 2016) Ultra Orthodox
Jewish culture maintains historical customs and likens to the Amish culture from outside
observation, their community and family lives have seemingly stopped in time. They are
recognizable by their differential style with characteristics reminiscent of the eighteenth and
nineteenth century. The males adorn black coats and Cossack looking hats; their beards are full
with distinct side curls called peyots which adhere to the Torah s instruction to not cut the corners
of one s head. Different sects of Ultra Orthodox Jews vary the style of curls distinguishing one
group from another. The women wear modest clothing which covers their skin from neck to ankles

Thom has clearly provided an introduction describing Netflix s products and markets, including its competitors. The history of the company and its industry are also clear and complete. I think we can also mention that Netflix, Inc. is the world s leading Internet televisionnetwork with over 75 million streaming members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films. Netflix s core strategy is to grow streaming membership business globally within the parameters of its consolidated net income and operating segment contribution profit (loss)... Additional items that I could add are the risk factors faced by Netflix. Business Risks In the annual 10 K report, Netflix mentions many business risks, but I chose to only state the following three: If Netflix s efforts to attract and retain members are not successful, the business will be adversely affected; Changes in how we market our service could adversely affect our marketing expenses and membership levels may be adversely affected; Any significant disruption in or unauthorized access to its computer systems or those of third parties that Netflix utilize in its operations, including those relating to cybersecurity or arising from cyber attacks, could result in a loss or degradation of service, unauthorized disclosure of data, including member and corporate information, or theft of intellectual property, including digital content assets, which could adversely impact the ... • 4. Elevated Blood Pressure Blood pressure readings are noted in two separate areas, the systolic and diastole. The systole (top number) is the pressure within the arteries when the heart is contracting and pushing the blood forward. When a blood pressure is above the normal range this is notation that the heart is having to work harder to pump the blood properly within the system. The diastole (bottom number) is the pressure within the arteries when the heart is relaxed. A normal blood pressure reading is 120/80, 139/89 is pre hypertensive and 140/90 and higher is labeled as hypertensive. Elevated blood pressures can be divided into two separate categories, this is primary and secondary hypertension(HTN) (Egan Zhao, 2013). • 5. Taking a Look at Organic Farming In recent years, there has been a huge conversion by farmers from conventional to organic farming due to the increased demand by consumers for products that are produced with fewer synthetic chemicals and hormones. The Center for American Progress estimated an increase of approximately 17 billion dollars from 23 billion dollars in 2002 to 40 billion dollars in 2006 (Center for Progress, 2008). As opposed to conventional farming, which uses chemical fertilizers, pesticide sprays, and herbicides, organic farmingrequires that farmers comply with the regulations and standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA) such as requiring the crops be produced and handled without synthetic, prohibited non synthetic, and non agricultural substances and ingredients as well as unapproved vaccines, ionizing radiation, and sewage sludge (USDA Code of Federal Regulations). Table 1 includes a list of what practices are permitted in conventional and organic farming as stipulated by the USDA. Cloud Computing Research Paper Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is revolutionizing the use software globally at a very rapid pace as it is completely redefining the economics of how software is purchased and used. Web 2.0 technologies and their underlying design precepts are responsible for the current and future generations of social networks (Bernoff, Li, 2008). Both have immediate and significant impacts on the operations of businesses and the major contributions each makes are explained in this analysis. Analysis of the Business Uses of the Cloud and Web 2.0 Technologies Cloud computing has drastically reordered the economics of how every size and type of business uses software. For the large enterprise there is no longer the need to go through an extensive capital expense (CAPEX) budgeting process, often involving the board of directors of a business (Aljabre, 2012). Cloud computing software is often pad for through operating expense (OPEX) budgets, which shifts the control of its budgeting to the line of business managers or those managers and executives responsible for a given business unit. This dynamic alone has completely reordered the enterprise software market, as cloud based applications can often be modified significantly faster than on premise applications (Lin, Chen, 2012). As a result of this flexibility, enterprises, medium size and small businesses are all relying on cloud based applications to automate those process areas that had been expensive and ... The similarity ends from this point forward, in cases where property is subject to liability, the partner would adjust its basis in the partnership. Gain, if triggered due to partner s liability decrease, termed deemed distribution, recognition of this gain could be circumvented by adjusting the transferor s outside basis, hence no recognition of gain either by the partnership or the partner. • 16. The History And Political Causes Of The Cold War The Cold War refers to an era of U.S. history from roughly 1945 to 1990. Although the U.S.S.R. and the U.S. fought ideological proxy wars in Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan, this era is referred to as the Cold War because the United States and Soviet Union never actually engaged in war themselves. The origins of the Cold Warcan be traced back to the finale of World War II. Beginning with the Yalta Conference, the Allied powers of the Soviet Union, United States, and Great Britain started a discussion concerning post war foreign policies. Specifically, the political system of Poland became an important question for the Big Three . Should Poland be allowed to form a democratically elected government, or should Russia be allowed to occupy Poland and further expand their communist influence? Essentially, this question and many like it characterized the motivation for the Cold War. The United States sought to contain communism while the Soviet Union pushed for both land expansion and political influence across the globe. (CITE) Harry Truman took the office of President just a few months before the end of World War II. Truman inherited a plethora of dilemmas heading into the post War World II era, and he decided to take his stance on international affairs in 1947 with the Truman Doctrine. Essentially, the Truman Doctrine promised that America would personally intervene in order to insure that democracy would remain secure in foreign governments. This was a stark contrast from the popular isolationist paradigm of the 20s and 30s. Furthermore, the Truman Doctrine prompted an unusual act of international involvement when Congress agreed to aid Greek and Turkish militaries in an effort to counter communist influence in these regions. Additionally, Truman s handling of the Korean War is another example of his firm stance of containment. Truman made no qualms about aiding the indigenous troops of South Korea with weapons and troops, but he did openly reject the notion of meeting either China or the Soviet Union in an open land battle. Furthermore, Truman fired General Douglas MacArthur based on the general s strong notion to invade China and reluctance to respect the President s authority. Truman s decisions ... With its underlying focus of the essence of peacebuilding, it looks far beyond what one may learn in any textbook or seminar. While the first 8 chapters of the text are ripe with areas for further analysis, here I will focus only on theme, found in one chapter, in the interest of brevity. In chapter 2 of The Moral Imagination we are introduced to real life micro case studies. The cases aim to help the reader understand how people experiencing violent conflictthroughout the world have worked to transcend the cycles of violence that bewitch our community, building on Lederach s statement on why the book was written. That being said, we can see that Lederach is operating under the assumption that current day peacebuilding and conflict management is not working as well as it should. It is clear that he thinks there is something more that needs to be involved in current strategies and models. He believes we must move from looking at actors in a conflict as separate involved parties and instead view parties as a web of relationships which include our enemies. This requires a shift in thinking for those in thefield of peacebuilding and for those involved in the conflict, but in making this shift, we can look at conflicts as existing within our communities rather than between our ... Emotional Intelligence And Psychological Depth EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING IN ADOLESCENTS The general concept of emotional intelligence (EI) is partly rooted in Thorndike s (1920) idea of social intelligence and Gardner s (1983) theory of multiple intelligences (especially intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence). In the current context, EI asa construct was discussed in a dissertation by Payne (1986), even though as a term it had appeared in the literature much earlier (Leuner, 1966). Salovey and Mayer (1990) put forward a theoretical model that viewed the construct as a subset of social intelligence and Goleman (1995) provided a broad and highly influential account that has nonetheless attracted concerted criticism for its unsubstantiated claims about the vital importance of EI in people s personal, social and professional lives. The fact that the field still lacks a universally accepted operational definition has contributed significantly to the emergence of inconsistent and sometimes, contradictory findings that have often been discussed in the scientific literature (e.g. Davies, Stankov, Roberts, 1998; Epstein, 1998; Mathews, Zeidner, Roberts, 2002). Psychological well being has been approached differently by different researchers and views it in different ways. But they did not let this knowledge force them into a state of despondency; instead, they looked forward to the future, when such things might improve (Bernbaum). This desire for a natural life came from the Romantic s love and admiration of nature. To him, nature was emotionally expressive and the only real source of peace (Lorcher). Romantics discovered truth, virtue, and beauty not by routine examination, but by moments of inspiration in which they could see something for what it truly was (Bernbaum). The professional duties include the balance between competency in skills, and application of ethics that will help promote the provision of the quality of care to the public (Harris, 2008). The validity of the informed consent should consist of three factors. First, the patient is competent to give an informed consent by verbalizing or acknowledging understanding of the nature of the treatment plans. Second, the patient should give consent willfully without an undue influence or threat from other individuals. Third, the patient should receive full disclosure, including the risks, and benefits of the treatment plans from his or her physician (McInroy, 2005). The ethical principles of beneficence, and nonmaleficence from a patient who is refusing blood transfusion believed that refusal of this treatment would honor the benefits over harm. Based on the values practiced among the Jehovah s Witness members, the harm resulting from receiving the blood transfusion will cause a dismissal in achieving an eternal salvation. Nevertheless, the harm resulting from refusing the blood transfusion will create less harm, which is the end of one s mortal life on earth. The belief of the Jehovah s Witness members pertains to a rational decision, which the eternal salvation preferred substantially compared with the additional years of temporary life on earth (Macklin, 2003). • 27. Johnny Manziel Research Paper The Cleveland Browns season has begun with one preseason game already in the books. Although the Browns lost to the Washington Redskins 20 17, we learned quite a few things from Thursday nights game. First off, Josh McCown was respectfully impressive even though he only played one possession. He looked composed in the pocket, knowing where and when to throw the ball. The veteran quarterback showed off his mobility, avoiding pressure to find Travis Benjamin in the end zone for a touchdown. McCown completed a perfect five for five passes for 33 yards giving the Browns a 7 0 lead. Next up to make his preseason debut, Johnny Manziel, who showed vas improvement. The former first round pick completed seven of his 11 pass attempts for 42 yards. The quarterback remained in the game for five possessions with minor mistakes. With just under a minute left before halftime, Manziel stared down one of his receivers and the pass was batted down, but he is lucky isn t didn t result in a pick six. Additionally, Johnny fumbled a snap in addition to taking just one sack. On a positive note, Manziel looks to be gaining comfort in the pocket. • 28. Cannibalism Is Not Illegal ( Eveleth ) The Other, Other, White Meat We had to eat these dead bodies, and that was it , this is what Andes plane crash survivor, Roberto Canessa, had to say on his experience with cannibalism. Cannibalism is the consumption of a member of the same species. Consuming human flesh is not against the law in the United States, therefore cannibalism is not illegal (Eveleth). In the eyes of the law, murdering someone to eat is wrong, but the act of eating a human is not. To Americans the simple thought of eating another human is sickening. To most that is true, but to others consuming human flesh is a way of life. Some cultures practice cannibalism for their own spiritual beliefs and others have to eat human flesh to survive. Human flesh has proteins most want when eating meat. The act of eating human meat has gotten a bad reputation over the years, looking back in history, people thousands of years ago have different views. Cannibalism is a way to survive, with the proteins necessary to do so, and a way for cultures to express their beliefs. Cannibalism is a taboo topic most people do not know enough about. People eat people for a variety of reasons, the most well known being killers getting a thrill from eating their victims. Although not everyone who is a cannibal gets a high from eating humans, Americans still see it as evil. • 29. The Wife s Lament And The Seafarer Analysis The Similarities of The Wife s Lament and The Seafarer Life away from home can be hard, but imagine what it would be like if it was to a harsh sea or under a giant tree. In the two poems we will be dissecting, you will see how these two different situations have a lot in common. In one of the oldest poems known in the world, The Seafarer was written long by an unknown author. Throughout the poem we see how the man takes his exile emotionally and physically, all the while he sails the sea and world. He goes to other countries and shows how on his missions he sees amazing things, but he expresses how sad he is. In the second poem, The Wife s Lament, a woman is exiled to a cave by her husband, and she goes through all her thoughts and emotions, and she decides to get out her anger and heartbreak for her husband, she curses him while is out at sea. While we go through both of these poems, we will find differences between exiles. In The Seafarer, it isn t known whether the man was exiled, or if he willingly left his home. Throughout the poem you can see the way that the man holds himself together, and how he feels about the people on the land. This the man does not know for whom on land it turns out most favourably, how i, wretched and sorrowful, on the ice cold sea... In this line, we can see that the man is very angry about having to be out at sea. While he is out at sea, he talks about his family back at home that later help us connect The SeaFarer to The Wife s Lament. You can see how the mans actions and words were very Pagen at the beginning of the poem, but slowly transform into Christian values and words change by the end of the poem. This leads many people to believe that the original poem have been translated by high church member, because they were the only ones back then that were educated enough to read and write. If it were translated by a high ranking church member, it is possible that some of it might have been changed. As you move onto the second poem, The Wife s Lament, we look at an exile, through a different person s eyes. When the Wife is still on land, she is still exiled far away to a cave area under a great tree. Although she was not on the seas, she still found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Luxury Goods Serve A Purpose Introduction Luxury goods serve a purpose that extends way beyond functionality and need. A bag that costs $15,000 or a pair of shoes priced at $500 does not necessarily signal that they perform better than goods priced significantly lower. The disproportionate prices of luxury goods reflect so much more than the eye can see, the history behind the brand, the story that it tells, and the scarcity and exclusivity it aims to achieve in the mind of the consumer. A premium brand, by contrast, can generally be described as a good that a customer pays more for because they are getting higher quality product. Luxury brands are not inherently inferior because they do not offer higher functionality. Sometime signaling the belonging to an exclusive group is important to a person, and thus worth the monetary cost. A premium product, though, is a good that people are willing to pay more because they believe they get more, whether that is higher quality or better performance. A customer does not purchase a luxury product because they know it will perform better, they purchase it because of the status and appearance that it signals to those around them. The distinction between luxury and premium is significant because many brands are unsure of where they want to position themselves. In order for a high end brand to be successful it needs to position themselves as either providing some benefit that justifies the price, or as a fantasy that the customer needs to pay for to be a part of. ... Eliot s The Waste Land that both critics and lay readers have repeatedly felt forced to look outside the published text of the poem for clues as to its meaning. The text s fragmented, seemingly violated body seems to exhibit wounds through which its significance has slipped, creating a difficulty caused by the author s having left out something which the reader is used to finding; so that the reader, bewildered, gropes about for what is absent...a kind of meaning which is not there, and is not meant to be there ... Asked to describe what sort of life might spring up out of the stony rubbish (20) of the poem s sterile landscape by an interlocutor who seems by the force of the allusion to Ezekiel to be a representative of some sort of transcendent reality, there seems to be no way for the poet to answer. The speaker continues in almost accusatory tone: You cannot say, or guess, for you know only/ A heap of broken images (21 22), and it is in this line that Eliot questions the potential for meaning inherent in language. The self is unable to explicate the nature of this life for his only language is a mere heap a disordered pile of broken images . Here Eliot describes language as representation, and in this mode it is doubly useless; first, because it is broken , fragmented and divorced from the very realities it was intended to describe, and second, because it consists of mere images representations of things and not the things themselves. One might argue that language, though only a heap of broken images, does achieve a certain reflexivity here, for in that disordered pile of reflections lies a landscape where the sun beats,/ And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief (22 23).
