The Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) congratulates President-elect Rodrigo Duterte for his unmistakable mandate to lead the Philippines for the next six years. FEF supports Duterte's proposed reforms to remove foreign ownership restrictions, improve competition, investment climate, peace and order, reduce bureaucratic red tape, reform the tax system, and improve infrastructure. FEF also supports Duterte's program to make growth inclusive by focusing on education, rural development, and basic services for the poor, and urges him to end labor contractualization only in the context of total labor market reform.
We, the Foundation for Economic Freedom, an organization dedicated to market-friendly reforms, good governance, and economic and political liberty, call on the incoming Duterte administration to break from the present policy of protecting the rice importation monopoly of the National Food Authority (NFA). We urge instead to liberalize rice importation to realize the new administration’s promise of affordable food for the poor.
This week we bring you an analysis of the National Budget Framework Paper for the financial year 2015/16 was released on Wednesday 25th March 2015 as per Section 9(v) of the Public Finance and Management Act 2015. Women have lost out from the new budget proposals.
We have attached the subject letter that was recieved by President Barrack Obama to be aware of the continued Human Rights violations towards foreign investors / tourist that visit/live in the Philippines.
The world should become aware of this situation in the Philippines and the lack of attention given by the Philippine government.

2) Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP)
3) Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)
This presentation covers the topic of access control in software. Access control is an essential part of every software application that manages data of any value. However, access control is also complex and hard to get right, both from a development and management point of view.
In this presentation, we first explore the concept and goals of access control in general. We then discuss the different models that exist in practice and in literature to reason about access control. We then investigate different approaches of how to enforce access control in an application. Overall, this sessions aims to provide deeper insights into access control in order to better reason about it and implement it correctly and efficiently.
We, the Foundation for Economic Freedom, support moves in the House and the Senate to lower personal individual tax rates, to adjust tax brackets, and to slowly align corporate tax rates with the rest of ASEAN.
Inflation has pushed up the majority of fixed income earners to the highest tax brackets. The country has the highest individual tax and corporate tax rates in the region, thus, in the interest of fairness, equity, and competitiveness, new tax rates need to be legislated.
FEF also supports moves for government to look into compensatory revenue-raising measures that are progressive and simple to administer.
FEF Statement of Support for Charter Change on Lifting Economic RestrictionsFEF Philippines
We, the Foundation for Economic Freedom, support the ongoing deliberation at the Lower House on the Resolution of Both Houses No. 1 (RBH1) or the Belmonte Resolution, which seeks to amend the restrictive economic provisions of the Constitution.

FEF Statement on the Extension of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform ProgramFEF Philippines
We, the Foundation for Economic Freedom, are opposed to the extension of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
We fully agree with the scientific findings of Dr. Raul Fabella, National Scientist for Economic Science, that CARP has only created a class of landed poor and has failed to increase agricultural productivity. We believe that extending CARP will only increase uncertainty over property rights over agricultural land and deter investments in agriculture.

FEF Opposes the Increase in Solar Installation Capacity Under the FIT SubsidyFEF Philippines
We, the Foundation for Economic Freedom, firmly oppose the plan of the Department of Energy (DOE) to increase the installation target for solar energy from 50 Megawatts to 500 Megawatts (MW) under the Feed-in-Tariff Subsidy of PHP 9.80 per KWh on the pretext that the country has to build energy reserves in the summer months of 2015 and 2016.

There is less evidence that political dynasties bring about poverty.

In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.

FEF CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT-ELECT RODRIGO DUTERTE
We, the Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF), congratulate President-elect Rodrigo
Duterte for getting an unmistakable mandate to lead our nation for the next six (6) years.
We look forward to the reforms that he has promised to undertake, particularly in
removing the foreign ownership restrictions in the Constitution, and improving
competition in key sectors of the economy.
We support his proposed measures that will improve the investment climate in the
country, by improving peace and order, cutting bureaucratic red tape, reforming the tax
system, and vastly improving infrastructure.
We also support his program to make growth inclusive by focusing on education, rural
development, and delivery of basic services to the poor.
We urge him to end labor contractualization only within the context of total labor
market reform and the modernization of the labor code to provide more jobs and secure
better employment for our people based on a strong and growing economy.
Finally, we applaud his reaching out to his political rivals. National unity is vital in
solving our problems of widespread poverty, national security, and peace and order.
