Based on your peer assessment feedback what were 3 areas of strength on your magazine
cover?
Based on my peer assessment I have come to a conclusion that my magazine cover has both
strengths and weaknesses. I was told that my main areas of strengths were: my masthead as
it is clear and unique, my font and style of writing, the main image and lastly the cover line
as they easily grab the audiences eye.
What areas were identified as areas of improvements?
My assessor managed to pick out a few faults in the cover of the magazine. One being no
date and issue number and the other being the masthead name as it doesn’t relate to the
subject of the magazine. To correct these problems, I can easily think of a new name for the
magazine and include an issue number and date.
Do you agree with your assessment of your peer? Explain?
Yes, overall I do however there was one comment that to me doesn’t affect the magazine
negatively at all which was the masthead name. In my opinion it doesn’t matter what the
producers name is for example VICE; a famous magazine producer creates articles on music
artists such as Kanye West and their name doesn’t relate to the subject.
If you were able to re-submit this task what would you change and why?
If I was able to re submit this task I would change a few things. One being the design of the
cover lines as I have lazily placed them in a greenish circle on both sides of the cover. In my
opinion this isn’t professional and looks a little childish. Another thing I will do is to include
an issue number and date as it makes it seemprofessional to the audience as if it was real.
Other than that I wouldn’t change anything as I feel my magazine creation went well.
Overall do you believe that this feedback has been constructive and helpful?
Honestly I feel as if this feedback has given me more knowledge of creating magazines as it
has given me an insight of someone else’s perspective of my magazine. This means that I
can adapt and that my future magazine covers for everyone’s likes. This will result in more
people preferring my magazine.
