Mapping Your World
Ryan Cooper, our GIS Tech-
nician, is leaving the Planning
Office after almost three years.
Ryan has been a highly motivat-
ed, welcome asset to our office,
lending creativity and lots of
fresh ideas. Not only has he
done routine GIS updates, he
has taken the lead on creating
and updating our online maps
(such as the Snow Plow Priority
Map), designing our new office
logo, and the biggest challenge
of all, redesigning our website.
He has also helped provide in-
teresting content for this section
of The Skinny!
Ryan is moving to Raleigh,
North Carolina to start a new
chapter in his life with his fian-
cé, Meredyth. They’ll do well
in this fast-growing, high-tech
area. Enjoy this exciting time,
and well wishes to you both!

New Stormwater Regulations
The City of Georgetown and the Georgetown-Scott County
Planning Commission (GSCPC) hosted a Stormwater Manual
Update Orientation and Training Workshop on February 16 for
design professionals, developers, and contractors involved with
development work within the City of Georgetown. The training
covered a review and discussion of the City’s new Stormwater
BMP (Best Management Practices) Manual. The new Stormwater
BMP Manual establishes the new standards for developers and
owners/HOA’s for construction and certification of certain
stormwater facilities. It also includes a post-construction maintenance and operations
agreement and BMP fact sheets that will serve to guide responsible parties on how to
maintain these private facilities after construction is complete.
The new Georgetown Stormwater BMP Manual is now in effect. Please check it out
on our website at www.gscplanning.com/engineering. The City is requesting comments
on the manual be sent to city.engineer@georgetownky.gov for the next 60 days.
