Colours of the wind - An analysis of integration in europe

This handbook comes from the the development of the project Colours of the Wind, a training course developed by SEYF Malta and supported by the Maltese National Agengy EUPA within the frame of the Erasmus Plus Programme. Its overall aim was to train and enable youth workers, leaders and youngsters on the way to use different models and tools for the integration of minorities, especially young migrants in society. The content and the information provided by this publication try to give some input to all the people involved in the process of non formal education, of the promotion of intercultural dialogue and of the values of integration and solidairity among the local communities Our strong belief is that from more inclusive communites we can build a stronger Europe. The products, the activities based on non formal education and all the researches have been entirely made by the participant to the project. Our thanks go to EUPA, the Maltese National Agency that supported our project under the Erasmus Plus programme, to the international participants and their sending organizations and to the local NGOs that believed in our aims. Today I am uploading a presentation devoted to civil society and a general substate engagement in foreign relations as well as in shaping the global agenda. I think that what my students got out from this is especially the observation that everyone can be (or actually is) the ambasador of their respective countries. This was particularly important to them - international students. They saw that what they have to say matters in both positive and negative ways. They also saw that they can "be the change" and that a constructive engagement can take them far. Disclaimer1: we discussed also consular affairs during these classes, but all the materials we used were published only in Polish. Thus, I decided not to include them in the uploaded version of the presentation. Still, I have a great respect to all the represetatives of consular services for their daily hard work. Cities are, and will remain, the centres of global finance, industry and communications, home to a wealth of cultural diversity and political dynamism, immensely productive, creative and innovative. However, they have also become breeding grounds for pollution and congestion. Unsustainable patterns of consumption among dense city populations, concentration of industries, intense economic activities, increased use of motor vehicles and inefficient waste management all suggest that the major environmental problems of the future will be city problems. Poor urban governance and bad policies have further exacerbated environmental degradation and deteriorating living conditions in many cities. It is apparent that many governments are under−prepared and under−resourced in anticipating, planning and preparing for an urbanizing world. However, 1996 marked a turning point in international efforts to promote socially and environmentally sustainable cities. The Second United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II), held in Istanbul, Turkey, in June 1996, recognized that more holistic, inclusive and participatory policies, strategies and actions are required to make the world’s cities and communities safe, healthy and equitable. Habitat II, popularly known as the City Summit, was conceived as a conference of partnerships. It established a historic precedent by including in its deliberations representatives from local authorities, non−governmental organizations, the private sector, academia and other partner groups.

El Puerto de Algeciras continúa un año más como el más eficiente del continente europeo y vuelve a situarse en el “top ten” mundial, según el informe The Container Port Performance Index 2023 (CPPI), elaborado por el Banco Mundial y la consultora S&P Global. El informe CPPI utiliza dos enfoques metodológicos diferentes para calcular la clasificación del índice: uno administrativo o técnico y otro estadístico, basado en análisis factorial (FA). Según los autores, esta dualidad pretende asegurar una clasificación que refleje con precisión el rendimiento real del puerto, a la vez que sea estadísticamente sólida. En esta edición del informe CPPI 2023, se han empleado los mismos enfoques metodológicos y se ha aplicado un método de agregación de clasificaciones para combinar los resultados de ambos enfoques y obtener una clasificación agregada.
