FCH School Magazine Feedback

1. From my feedback I gathered a lot of information both positive and negative referring to my
school magazine cover. The first thing my assessor noticed was that even though my
masthead looked unique the title “RAMON TIMES” was not relevant to the topic and also it
is related to the produces name. It will suit the target audience as the main image is a long
shot of a Finchley Catholic Student with the school behind him. I was told that my masthead
wasn’t “loud” enough which resulted in me making it darker and more visible in the ost
recent version. Another fault I had was the background. In draft one it is clearly plane and
boring with no relevance of school. Even though draft one shows better Photoshop skills to
crop the background out I decided to go with the original background.
There were many areas of improvements in the first draft and also the most recent draft.
Not only does draft one not have a barcode which makes it look less professional but it is
also missing an issue date. In the updated version it is clear that we have a barcode and a
issue date. I also added a shadow effect on the main cover line so help it look more
appealing to the audience. In the draft one I only had two cover lines however I added in an
extra on into the most recent draft as it fills up more space.
I agree to a certain extent of the feedback I gained from my peer however I feel like the
name of the magazine (RAMON TIMES) is fine.
Overall the feedback was very constructive and helpful. It is good that you gain opinions of
others as you have to treat them like a customer. What they would like the customers
would like. I think that I have made a better quality magazine cover from draft one.
