• Cause
• When the convection currents
move plates it may also create
cracks in the plates.
• Effect
• In some places slabs of rock get
stuck while the mantle below is
moving, which causes pressure
to keep increasing. Eventually,
the slabs move and release a
huge amount of energy. That's
called an earthquake. Tsunami is
happening when the same thing
occur underwater.
6. Analysis
• Faults are cracks in the Earth's crust, which mostly
occur near plate boundaries. Convection currents
move plates and sometimes this movement breaks
the crust. A few examples of a fault zone are the San
Andreas Fault Zone of western North America and the
Alpine Fault of New Zealand. Those cracks may cause
earthquakes and tsunamis
