The rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is
a street located in the 8th
arrondissement of Paris, France.
Relatively narrow and nondescript
compared to Champs Elysée.

A mecca of money and
luxury, Place Vendôme
provides a base for
renowned and
prestigious
establishments: the Ritz
hotel, Cartier, Rolex,
Chanel jewelry, as well as
the Ministry of Justice.
Napoleon installed the Vendôme column in
1810. This imitation of the Trajan Column in
Rome was sculpted by Etienne Bergeret.
The famous Place Vendôme ranks as one
of France’s most beautiful squares. Located

In the late 1920’s
Gabrielle Chanel
rented an apartment
at 29 Foubourgh Saint-
Honoré.
Until the 18th century, a few
villages were dispersed in a rural
area that extended west of
the Louvre. The main street (a
dirt road) of Roule, one of the
villages, became rue Neuve-Saint-
Honoré .
A road was extended to the edge or gate of Paris.
The passage was renamed rue du Faubourg Saint-
Honoré when the village became an
official suburb of Paris .

the Parisian high-class.

also been shot in
the Rue Saint
Honoré, including
“Decalage
horaire” with
Juliette Binoche,
several of which
have been filmed at
the Hotel Coste.
In another field of activity, even if it officially gets its name
from “Saint-Honore” who is considered the baker’s saint, one
can not help thinking that the Saint-Honoré cake can not also
be named because of the address of the house Chiboust who
created it in 1847.
