3. ANÍBAL ANTÓNIO CAVACO SILVA
Born in Boliqueime -Algarve, July 15, 1939.
It is a Portuguese economist and politician, since 2006, the
nineteenth President of the Portuguese Republic.

4. MANUEL TEIXEIRA GOMES
Writer, diplomat and President of the Republic.
Born in Lagos, on May 27, 1860 and died in Bougie, Algeria,
where he was self-exile on 18 October 1941.
It was the seventh President of the First Portuguese Republic,
6 October 1923 to 11 December 1925.

5. LAURA AYRES
Born in Loulé (Algarve), the June 1, 1922.
Was medical and university professor, was dedicated to public health
research within the area of epidemiology
In 1955 creates the Virology Laboratory of the Health National Institute
Laura Ayres had a major role in the beginning of the fight against AIDS in
Portugal, and was coordinator of the working group of AIDS and chairman
of the National Fight Against AIDS

6. GIL EANES
Was a Portuguese navigator,
born in Lagos (Algarve),
squire of Prince Henrique.
Was the first to sail beyond Cape Boyador, in 1434, dispelling
the superstitious terror that inspired this promontory and thus
beginning the era of the "great Portuguese discoveries”.

7. JOÃO MOUTINHO
Born September 8, 1986 in Portimao.
It is a football player transferred this
year from FC Porto to play for Monaco.
Also plays for the Portuguese national team
He began playing football at Portimonense Sporting Club, and
shortly afterwards followed his training in Sporting C. P.
schools.
