Marital adjustment involves partners adapting to new roles as a team rather than as separate units. It requires maintaining open communication, sharing interests and values, and expressing care for one another. A marital relationship forms the foundation of family life through the union of a man and woman as husband and wife. Causes of misunderstanding in marriage can include infidelity, feeling unloved, and conflicts over relationship roles where partners have different expectations for how they and their spouse should behave.
The types were identified by Harold Raush, author of Communication, Conflict and Marriage, and John Gottman, PhD of the Gottman Institute and the well-known “Love Lab.”

3) The author believes great leaders are born and shaped by their upbringing and experiences, not just taught, and that caring about employees/family and having emotional intelligence are signs of strong leadership.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that requires careful preparation. It aims to support the growth, happiness, and fulfillment of both partners through open communication, trust, and compromise so they can face challenges together. Couples entering marriage should be emotionally mature, financially stable, and committed to building a relationship based on love, understanding, and meeting each other's needs.
Proper management of stress through techniques like NAMASMARAN can help strengthen marriages. Without stress management, spouses may become weak, irritable, and overreact to small issues, leading to quarrels. This can cause marriages to fail through divorce or in worse ways like dowry violence. Training in total stress management empowers individuals to be strong, resilient, and considerate of others, helping marriages blossom as stress from various factors is conquered. It provides a holistic perspective to comprehend marriage and conquer causes of conflict, enabling spouses to respect each other and blossom together.

Community counseling in the 1990s helped turn the tide against HIV/AIDS in Africa in the following key ways:
1) A small hospital in rural Africa started testing and counseling individuals which helped identify the scale of the problem and spread awareness of HIV/AIDS.
2) This approach evolved into counseling entire communities in their own environments through a grassroots model.
3) Community counseling was effective because it created safe spaces for open discussion, brought communities together to address the social and cultural issues relating to HIV/AIDS, and generated hope through collective problem-solving and support networks.
4) As a result, faith groups, governments, and NGOs across Africa adopted various components of community counseling, allowing

What are the Core Tasks of Psychotherapy? A Presentation for the 2013 Evoluti...Scott Miller
The document summarizes research on the evolution of psychotherapy over the past 50 years. It finds that while the number of treatment approaches has grown significantly, outcomes are largely due to common or "nonspecific" factors like the therapeutic alliance rather than specific treatment techniques. Over 190 studies with over 2630 patients found strong effect sizes for factors like the alliance, empathy, and collaboration between therapist and patient. In contrast, differences between treatment approaches and adherence to treatment protocols showed weak effect sizes. The core task of psychotherapy appears to be developing a strong therapeutic relationship through engagement, understanding, affirmation, genuineness, and collaboration.
Motivation refers to an internal state or condition that activates behavior and gives it direction.
Emotion is a state involving pattern of facial and bodily changes, cognitive appraisals, subjective feelings, and tendencies toward action.
Emotions are positive or negative feelings generally in reaction to stimuli that are accompanied by physical, psychological arousal and related behavior.
Emotions give life its feeling and meaning. They enrich life. Without emotions, things would be quite a routine and dull.
1) The document provides an introduction to motivation and emotion from different theoretical perspectives including psychodynamic, behaviourist, cognitive, humanistic, and evolutionary approaches.
2) Motivation is discussed in the context of eating, sexual motivation, and psychosocial motives including the need for achievement and relatedness.
3) Theories of emotion are explored from physiological, subjective, and neural perspectives.
This document discusses perception and the perception process. It defines perception as the process of receiving information about and making sense of the world around us. This involves selecting information to notice, categorizing it, and interpreting it based on existing knowledge. The document outlines the key elements in perception like sensation versus perception. It also discusses the various subprocesses involved in perception like receiving stimuli, selective attention, perceptual organization, interpretation, and response. Finally, it examines factors that influence perception like characteristics of the perceiver, target, and situation as well as barriers to accurate perception.
This chapter discusses perception and related concepts. It defines perception as how individuals select, organize and interpret stimuli to understand their environment. It distinguishes perception from sensation. The subprocesses of perception include registration, interpretation, and response. Factors that influence perception include attention, learning, motivation, personality and the perceiver, target, and situation. Perceptual organization involves processes like figure-ground perception, grouping, closure and constancy. Social perception examines how individuals perceive others through attribution, stereotyping and halo effects. Impression management refers to strategies individuals use to control how others perceive them. Perception ultimately influences individual decision-making.
Implication of behaviorism learning theoryzulhanafi88
The document discusses different types of learning environments based on classical and operant conditioning. Classical conditioning involves associating learning experiences with pleasure or discomfort, while operant conditioning uses reinforcement and punishment according to B.F. Skinner. Applied behavior analysis applies operant conditioning principles to change learner behavior by increasing desirable behaviors and decreasing undesirable ones. Specific strategies are outlined for reinforcing positive behaviors and reducing negative ones.
This document outlines several major theories of learning in psychology, including:
1) Behaviorism, which focuses on observable behaviors and conditioning.
2) Cognitivism, which views learning as connecting symbols mentally.
3) Social Learning Theory, which emphasizes learning through observation and imitation of models.
4) Social Constructivism, where knowledge is actively constructed through social and contextualized processes.
5) Multiple Intelligences Theory, which proposes individuals possess different types of intelligences.
6) Brain-Based Learning, which is informed by neuroscience and principles like emotional engagement.
The document compares key aspects of each theory and critiques their implications for classroom practice.
The document traces the history of school counseling in the United States from its beginnings in the early 20th century as a vocational guidance movement to its current form. It notes that Jesse B. Davis is considered the first to implement a systematic guidance program in 1907. Over time, the profession shifted its focus from vocational guidance to also address students' personal and social issues. Major developments included the establishment of the American School Counseling Association and its National Standards in the 1980s-1990s to define the three domains of academic, career, and personal/social counseling.

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
