Luke 19:1-10 Zacchaeus may have been a wee little man but he had a gigantic faith! Let us open God’s word and learn from the examples of Zacchaeus. Hopefully we will learn to fall in love with God all over again as we see the love which Christ had for Zacchaeus and also has for each of us.
He Sought to See Who Jesus Was. The curiosity factor. God loves us and has built into us the desire to seek Him. Acts 17:26-28 Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus. To know who he was. We must have the desire to know Christ and to do His will! Jn. 7:17; Mt. 7:21; 17:5 Do you know who Jesus is? Mt. 16:16; Acts 8:37; Rom. 10:9-10
Overcome the Obstacles! Things were preventing Him from seeing Jesus. He did what he had to so that he could see Jesus! The crowds... Others may stand in the way of you and your relationship with Christ. Get away from them. 1 Corinthians 15:33 His own limitations did not stop him. Prepared ahead, overcame the limitation. Today we must go where few will go. Mt. 7:13-14
Jesus Came to Him If we desire to do His will we shall know the truth. Jn. 7:17 Even though he had not met Jesus, Jesus came to him and knew his name. Jesus is God and knows everything about us. Hebrews 4:13 Are you ready to have Jesus in your life and your home with Him. Jn. 14:23 What would He see in your house/life?
Jesus Said: “Today I Must Stay at Your House” Will you let Jesus come and live with you? Zacchaeus openly welcomed Jesus! Did so quickly and joyfully! Are you ready to let Jesus into your life? 2 Corinthians 6:2 There comes a time when we need to open the door and let Jesus into our life. Revelation 3:20
Zacchaeus Showed Repentance We must show our repentance from sin. Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 26:20 He was willing not only to correct but make restitution for any wrongs done. Salvation had come to his house because he was a son of Abraham. When we follow Christ we can become true sons and daughters of Abraham! Galatians 3:26-29
