jaws in total scan time of approximately

Why do I need a CT scan?
CT scans are becoming the Standard of Care in
dentistry, and an important part of your diagnosis
and treatment planning. Unlike regular dental X-
rays CT scans can discriminate between many
types of tissue including bone, teeth, nerve canal,

What are the advantages of a CBCT scan?
The distinct advantages of a Cone Beam CT
imaging versus standard medical-based CT scans
is the decreased radiation dosage (more than 10
times less radiation). The patient is in a sitting up
position for 18 seconds. It is non claustrophobic.
The amount of radiation needed for our 3D scans
is about 70% less than a full-mouth set of dental
x-rays, less than a standard dental panoramic
x-ray and equivalent to 2 days of background
environmental exposure by living in the United
States. All of our vans are equipped with the latest

systems incorporate Safe Beam™ technology,
which automatically senses the size of the patient
and drops the radiation dose by as much as 40%

How should I prepare?
No preparation needed for a CBCT scan of the
head. You will need to remove anything such
as earrings, necklaces, piercing, hairpins and
eyeglasses. Technician may ask you to also
remove dentures or other appliances, unless
specified by the referring doctor.
