Facebook is a social networking website — a gathering spot, to connect with your
friends and with your friends friends. Facebook allows you to make new
connections who share a common interest, expanding your personal network.

2. Profile Pictures
Your profile picture appears in the top left corner of your profile page. Profile
pictures help potential Friends find the person they are looking for. A profile pic
can also allow you to express yourself in a visual manner even if you choose to
use a picture that doesn’t actually feature your face.
There is no rule that says you HAVE
to use a photo of yourself, but it’s
helpful if you want to be found.
You can hide all photos from
the banner on your Profile
You can change or delete your profile pic at any time. If you change your
photo, it will automatically be added to the Profile Pictures album. Friends
can view your old profile pictures if you do not delete them.

3. Photos
Facebook allows you to easily save and share photos. To get started, click on
the “Profile” tab at the top right of the page. Click on the “Photos” tab under
the Wall tab to the left of the page. Click on the “+Upload Photos” button to
start uploading digital pictures from your computer.
You can choose photos to upload
more easily by switching to the
Thumbnail view rather than the
list view. This will let you see a
small preview of your photos.

4. Albums
When your photos
are uploading, you
will be able to create
a new album to store
them in.
You can add a
caption for the
whole album.
Go back and edit album
info any time you need to.
From “Edit Album Info”
you can also change
which photo appears as
the album cover by going
to the “Edit Photos” tab.

5. Adding/Editing Photos
In the “Edit Photos” tab
you can tag, edit
descriptions, move a
photo to another album,
delete and make an
album cover all in one
place.
You can easily add photos
to an existing album.
When you are inside the
album, use the button to
add more photos.
You can edit individual photos by clicking on the one you want to
change. From here you can add a description for the photo, share with
friends, tag it, delete it or make it your new profile picture.

6. Tagging Photos
Tagging allows photos to be easily shared. A tag will link a face or object in
the photo with a person on Facebook. You may also use tags to label objects
or people who don’t have Facebook accounts, but the label will not link to
anything or anyone.

8. Your Wall
Your “Wall” is where you can post & read your own updates. This is the
page that loads when you click the “Profile” link at the top right.
If you allow them, Friends can make posts on your Wall as well. They will
do this if they want to leave you a message that they want all your Friends
to see too. Wall posts are public! They are not private.
Updates can be a few words, a small paragraph, a web link, or even a photo
or video.
Friends can also comment on or “Like” what has been posted if you allow it.

9. Friends’ Walls
You can do the same on your Friends’ Walls if they allow it. Follow the
numbered instructions below to post a link on the Wall of one of your
Friends.
You can get to a Friend’s
Wall by going to your
list of Friends or by
doing a quick Search at
the top of the page.

10. Notes & Links
With Notes, you can
share your life with
your friends through
written entries. You
can tag your friends
in notes, and they can
leave comments. The
Notes page displays
notes recently written
by your friends, notes
in which your friends
have been tagged,
and links to your own
notes. —Facebook
You can see all the
links you have posted
and all the links your
Friends have posted in
one convenient place.
You can even Share a
Link right on this
page.

11. Groups & Chat
Join a Group or
start your own.
Groups can be
private or public.
Chat with a
Friend or with a
Group you are a
member of.

12. Events
You will find events you have been invited to, Friends’ birthdays, your Friends’
events and a record of past events in the Events section on the left side of your
Home page.
You can create your own
Event or export an event
to your own calendar
program.

13. Creating Events
Fill out the details of your event, add a photo and invite some Friends. You can
also include email addresses for friends who might not be on Facebook.
Check the boxes next
to the Friends you
want to invite.
